System and process for obtaining products from biomass
A process for producing products from biomass comprising fermenting biomass to produce a first product stream comprising carboxylic acid salts; acidifying at least one of the first product stream and a second product stream to produce a third product stream comprising acids; extracting such acids from the third product stream with a solvent; separating the extracting solvent from the acids to produce the separated extracting solvent and a fourth product stream comprising acids; and processing the fourth product stream to produce a fifth product stream.

SYSTEM AND METHOD OF BIOCATALYTIC CONVERSION FOR PRODUCTION OF ALCOHOLS, KETONES, AND ORGANIC ACIDS
Biocatalytic conversion systems and methods of producing and using same that have improved yields are disclosed. The systems and methods involve co-fermentation of sugars and gaseous substrates for alcohol, ketone, and/or organic acid production. The systems and methods may include biocatalytically converting at least one sugar substrate into at least one of alcohol, at least one ketone, and/or at least one organic acid. The systems and methods may further include biocatalytically converting gases that comprise CO.sub.2 and H.sub.2 to at least one alcohol and/or at least one organic acid, thereby adding extra revenue to biorefineries.
METHOD FOR BIOREMEDIATION OF HEAVY METAL CONTAMINATED SOIL
A method of treating a heavy metal contaminated soil including contacting the contaminated soil with a bioremediation mixture for a predetermined time such that the contaminated soil is anaerobically digested, wherein the contaminated soil contains one or more heavy metals, and wherein the anaerobically digested soil contains a lesser amount of the one or more heavy metals than the contaminated soil.
SEQUENTIAL CO-CULTURING METHOD FOR PRODUCING A VITAMIN- AND PROTEIN-RICH FOOD PRODUCT
The present invention relates to a method for producing a vitamin- and protein-rich product, to a food product containing the vitamin- and protein-rich product, and to a nutrient medium appropriate for said method on the basis of agricultural tributaries or food tributaries.

Biological agent for enrichment of anaerobic digestion reactors, method of preparing such biological agent and bio-augmentation process with said agent
Biological agent for bio-augmentation of an anaerobic digestion reactor, named first anaerobic digestion reactor, comprising a mixture of microorganisms including at least 10% of relative abundance in said mixture, of a unique Cloacimonetes sp. This agent is prepared by enrichment of a biological sample in a separate reactor fed with carbohydrate-rich substrate and oxygenated gas.
Said agent comprising this unique Cloacimonetes sp. is able to restore and stabilize the biogas production of an anaerobic digestion reactor after acidosis, in a very short time.
FERMENTATION PROCESS FOR THE PRODUCTION OF LIPIDS
The invention provides methods and systems for the production of lipid products from a gaseous substrate using a two stage fermentation process. The method comprises providing a gaseous substrate comprising CO, CO.sub.2 or H.sub.2 or mixtures thereof, to a first bioreactor containing a culture or one or more microorganisms, and fermenting the substrate to produce acetate. The acetate from the first bioreactor is then provided to a second bioreactor, where it is used as a substrate for fermentation to lipids by one or more microalgae.
