PROCESS FOR COATING VEGETABLE-TANNED LEATHERS
A process for coating vegetable-tanned leathers is provided. The process includes depositing a coating layer composed of an aqueous dispersion of polyurethane resin on a support having anti-adhesion properties, curing the coating layer on the support, depositing an adhesive layer composed of an aqueous dispersion of polyurethane resin onto the cured coating layer, applying a leather piece onto the adhesive layer, the leather piece being a vegetable-tanned leather piece, in a continuous oven curing the adhesive layer to attach the leather piece to the coating layer, and removing the coated leather piece from the support. Within the continuous oven the leather piece reaches a maximum temperature comprised between 65° C. and 75° C., with a dwell time in the oven comprised between 180 and 210 seconds.
PHOSPHORUS ACID FUNCTIONALIZED COATING COMPOSITION
The present invention relates to a composition comprising an aqueous dispersion of submicron-sized polymer particles and micron-sized polymer beads, wherein the polymer particles or beads or both are functionalized with phosphorus acid groups. The composition of the present invention is useful for providing a matte finish on substrates, such as leather, textiles, wallboard, decorative coatings, concrete, and wood, with improved stain resistance. The present invention also relates to a leather substrate coated with a clear matte finish comprising an acrylic or styrene-acrylic polymer film and micron-sized polymer beads, wherein the film or the beads or both are functionalized with a phosphorus acid monomer.
SILK COATED LEATHER AND PRODUCTS AND METHODS OF PREPARING THE SAME
Silk processed, coated, repaired, and/or infused leather or leather articles, and methods of preparing the same are disclosed herein. In some embodiments, the invention relates to silk-coated leather apparel and products for use in home and automotive applications, such as leather coated with pure silk fibroin-based proteins or protein fragments thereof. In some embodiments, the invention relates to silk and silk protein fragments compositions, and methods of making and using thereof, for processing leather, for example coating leather, and/or repairing, hiding, or masking defects on or within leather, and/or as a mixing agent, additive, or replacement for leather processing chemicals.
Aqueous polyurethane dispersions
Process for the preparation of aqueous polyurethane dispersions, containing from 20 to 50% by weight of an anionic polyurethane having a mean particle size from 1 to 15 micron and providing films with durable low gloss aspect.
Decorated natural leather
A manufacturing method of decorated natural leather including the steps of: attaching a crusted leather (45) with its corium side by an adhesive (46) to a temporary carrier (47); inkjet printing the crusted leather (45) on its grain side with one or more pigmented inkjet inks; wherein the surface area of the temporary carrier (47) is larger than the surface area of the crusted leather (45).
Aqueous leather coating composition
An aqueous coating composition comprising an aqueous dispersion of polyurethane and a siloxane-based polyamide.
Leather with skin texture having an identification code
A natural leather embossed with a skin texture for authenticating said natural leather with an identification code comprising the steps: —applying a protective top-coat on said natural leather; and —selecting an identification code and converting said identification code to a plurality of locations; and —forming a skin texture with higher up elements and lower located elements; arranged according said plurality of locations; and —embossing said skin texture in said protective top-coat.
METHOD OF MANUFACTURING LEATHER
The present invention provides a method of manufacturing leather, which not only significantly suppresses the occurrence of adhesive wrinkling and boarding/alighting wrinkling when used for an automobile seat, for example, but also exhibits appropriate flexibility.
The present invention is a method of manufacturing leather including a pretreatment step, a tanning step, a retanning step, and a drying and finishing step in this order, the retanning process including, in the following order, subjecting a shaving leather obtained from the tanning process to a stage of performing treatment using a predetermined retanning agent and a predetermined resin, a stage of performing treatment using a predetermined retanning agent, a predetermined resin, and a predetermined fatliquoring agent, and a stage of performing treatment using a predetermined resin and a predetermined fatliquoring agent, and the drying in the drying and finishing process including, in the following order, subjecting a leather obtained from the retanning process to a stage of drying under reduced pressure under predetermined conditions and a step of drying at atmospheric pressure under predetermined conditions.
DECORATED NATURAL LEATHER
A manufacturing method of decorated natural leather including the steps of: a) laser ablating part of a base coat on dyed crusted leather; and b) bleaching the laser ablated part with a bleaching agent.
