Compositions for Improving the Environmental Impact of Textiles and Leather
The subject invention provides environmentally-friendly compositions and methods for enhancing production of textiles and leather. In certain embodiments, the methods of the subject invention comprise incorporating the application of a biological amphiphilic molecule into a textile or leather-making process to reduce chemical usage, reduce water usage, reduce water pollution and/or provide an added benefit to the process. In certain embodiments, the methods of the subject invention comprise substituting a chemical surfactant with a biological amphiphilic molecule in one or more steps involved in textile or leather-making process that would traditionally utilize a chemical surfactant.

PREPARATION AS WATER REPELLING AGENTS
The invention relates to preparations comprising a polyurethane and/or polyurea and a copolymer as well as their use as hydrophobing agents,
USE OF HYDROXY FUNCTIONAL WATERBORNE RESINS TO CREATE URETHANE CROSSLINKING IN LEATHER FINISHES
A coating composition includes at least one, low Tg, polyol resin having hydroxyl groups available for crosslinking, a polyurethane crosslinker that crosslinks the hydroxyl groups when cured, and water in an amount from about 4 to 20 wt. % of the total weight of the coating composition. Characteristically, solvents other than water are present in an amount less than half the amount of water. The coating composition is advantageously used to finish leather.
PROCESS TO MOLD 3-DIMENSIONAL LEATHER TRIM COVER
A seat trim cover for an automotive seat formed from milled leather which lacks coatings and/or paint on the milled leather while retaining stored elongation introduced to the leather fiber structure during a milling process. At least one coating and/or paint is applied to an upper surface of the 3-dimensional leather shape after the milled leather is formed into a 3-dimensional leather shape by one or more of a vacuum form process, a compression mold process, and/or an embossing process.
Manufacturing process of three-dimensional leather objects
A manufacturing process of three-dimensional leather objects, including the following steps: applying a hardener additive on the flesh side of a piece of leather, positioning the flesh side of the piece of leather on a shape, introducing the shape with the piece of leather in a vacuum sack, applying rough vacuum in the vacuum sack, heating the vacuum sack with the shape and the piece of leather, and progressively applying vacuum during the heating step, stopping the vacuum pressure and cooling the vacuum sack with the shape and the piece of leather, opening the sack and extracting the shape with the piece of leather from the vacuum sack and removing the piece of leather from the shape in such a way that the piece of leather has the shape of a three-dimensional object.

Leather finishing agent and preparation method thereof
A leather finishing agent that can enhance the mechanical properties and ultraviolet resistance of leather and a preparation method thereof are disclosed that relate to the field of leather additives. It was prepared by using polyphenol as raw material, hexamethylene tetramine as auxiliary agent, and a protonic acid as solvent, then heating and adding water for hydrolysis and dispersion. The method has the advantages of low production cost, simple process, high preparation efficiency, green production process and environmental protection. The leather finishing agent can be used in the finishing section after leather tanning. After finishing, the mechanical properties of the leather were significantly enhanced, and its UV resistance was also significantly improved.

Decorated leather manufacturing
A manufacturing method for decorating natural leather including the steps of: jetting a decorative image with one or more radiation curable inkjet inks on a leather surface; and curing the radiation curable inkjet inks jetted on the leather surface; wherein the one or more radiation curable inkjet inks include a colorant and a polymerizable composition containing 0 to 15.0 wt % of one or more polyfunctional polymerizable compounds and at least 85.0 wt % of one or more monofunctional polymerizable compounds with the weight percentages based on the total weight of the polymerizable composition; wherein the one or more radiation curable inkjet inks include 0 to 35.0 wt % of organic solvent; and at least 85.0 wt % of one or more monofunctional polymerizable compounds; and wherein the glass transition temperature of the one or more radiation curable inkjet inks (I) is less than 25? C.; and wherein one of the one or more radiation curable inkjet inks includes a white pigment in an amount of at least 17.5 wt % based on the total weight of the radiation curable inkjet ink.
