CENTRIFUGALLY CAST COMPOSITE ROLL FOR ROLLING AND ITS PRODUCTION METHOD
A centrifugally cast composite roll for rolling comprising an outer layer and an inner layer, which are integrally fused to each other, the outer layer being made of an Fe-based alloy comprising by mass 1.70-2.70% of C, 0.3-3% of Si, 0.1-3% of Mn, 1.1-3.0% of Ni, 4.0-10% of Cr, 2.0-7.5% of Mo, 3-6.0% of V, 0.1-2% of W, 0.2-2% of Nb, 0.01-0.2% of B, and 0.01-0.1% of N, the balance being Fe and inevitable impurities, and the inner layer being made of ductile cast iron.
DURABLE AND LOW MAINTENANCE VALVE
A plug valve is disclosed having one or more components that are coated to reduce wear on the components. A plug of the valve may include a bore therethrough defined by an inner surface of the plug. The inner surface of the plug may include a nitride layer, such as a carbonitride layer. An outer surface of the plug may include both a nitride layer, in addition to a thermal spray coated layer, such as WC. The nitride layer may be formed by a ferritic nitrocarburizing process and the thermal spray coating may be formed by a high velocity air fuel (HVAF) or similar process. Inserts of the plug valve may also be coated by similar processes. An outer surface of the inserts may have a nitride layer and an inner surface of the inserts may have a nitride layer and a thermal spray coating.

A method for manufacturing an austempered ductile cast iron and a product made from the austempered ductile cast iron manufactured by the method are disclosed. In the method for manufacturing an austempered ductile cast iron, spheroidizing agent and primary inoculant are added to a raw molten metal to create homogeneous spheroidal graphite creation in a deep part of a matrix and the raw molten metal to which the spheroidizing agent and the primary inoculant are added is injected into a mold to which secondary inoculant is locally applied, to micronize spheroidal graphite of a local structure coated with the secondary inoculant into fine graphite that is easy to machine, thereby enhancing workability as compared with a conventional austempered ductile cast iron.
