RARE EARTH PERMANENT MAGNET AND METHOD FOR PREPARING SAME

The present invention discloses a rare earth permanent magnet and a method for preparing same. The material of the rare earth permanent magnet has a heavy rare earth element volume diffusion phenomenon at a depth of 5 μm to 100 μm from the surface of the magnet to the interior of the magnet along the magnetic field orientation direction, thereby forming a volume diffusion layer region; the volume diffusion layer region is divided into magnet units having a volume of 10*100*5 μm, and the concentration difference of the heavy rare earth elements of the magnet units at different positions in the volume diffusion layer is below 0.5 at %. The present invention provides a sintered NdFeB magnet of high intrinsic coercive force Hcj on the premise of not influencing the remanence Br and the maximum magnetic energy product (BH)max of products. In the method for preparing the rare earth permanent magnet, microwave heat treatment is performed on a blank magnet coated with heavy rare earth source slurry in a vacuum condition. This method can effectively improve the heating efficiency, reduce the heat treatment time, lower the energy consumption, and reduce the production cost of the magnet.

Method For Improved Current Contacting When Welding Using A Current-Carrying Wire Electrode

When welding with a consumable wire electrode, current contacting occurs when the electrode wire passes by a readily electrically conductive contact element. In order to improve the current contacting and reduce the wear of the contact element in particular, the invention proposes subjecting contact elements to a cold treatment prior to using same. The cold treatment has a cooling phase during which the temperature of the contact element is reduced to a lower target temperature, a subsequent holding phase in which the contact element is substantially held at the target temperature, and a final heating phase, in which the contact element is brought to an upper target temperature. The use of contact elements treated using the method according to the invention leads to a substantial increase of the wear resistance compared to untreated contact elements.

Method for operating a continuous annealing line for the processing of a rolled good

A method operates a continuous annealing line for the processing of a rolled good, in particular a metal strip. A property of the rolled good in relation to a point or a section of the rolled good is fed to a computer-aided model as an input variable. The point or the section of the rolled good is located before or in the continuous annealing line. For the purpose of precise control of the continuous annealing process, at least one material property of the rolled good after the continuous annealing process is simulated by the computer-aided model and compared with a specified target value. If the simulated material property deviates from the target value, at least one process variable of the continuous annealing process is controlled as long as the point or the section of the rolled good is located before or in the continuous annealing line.

Energy storage flywheel device and system for producing kinetic energy within the storage system

A flywheel energy storage system incorporates various embodiments in design and processing to achieve a very high ratio of energy stored per unit cost. The system uses a high-strength steel rotor rotating in a vacuum envelope. The rotor has a geometry that ensures high yield strength throughout its cross-section using various low-cost quenched and tempered alloy steels. Low-cost is also achieved by forging the rotor in a single piece with integral shafts. A high energy density is achieved with adequate safety margins through a pre-conditioning treatment. The bearing and suspension system utilizes an electromagnet that off-loads the rotor allowing for the use of low-cost, conventional rolling contact bearings over an operating lifetime of several years.

METHOD FOR PRODUCTION OF A NITRIDED PACKAGING STEEL

A method for producing a nitrided packaging steel from a hot-rolled steel product with a carbon content of 400 to 1200 ppm, utilizing a cold-rolling of the steel product to a flat steel product, subsequent recrystallization annealing of the cold-rolled flat steel product in an annealing furnace, in particular a continuous annealing furnace. A nitrogen-containing gas is supplied into the annealing furnace and is directed at the flat steel product to introduce unbonded nitrogen into the flat steel product in an amount corresponding to a concentration of more than 100 ppm, or to increase the amount of unbonded nitrogen in the flat steel product to a concentration of more than 100 ppm, and subsequent cooling of the recrystallized annealed flat steel product at a cooling rate of at least 100 K/s directly after the recrystallization annealing. Using this method, cold-rolled flat steel products may be produced for packaging purposes with a tensile strength of more than 650 MPa and in particular between 700 and 850 MPa.
