R-T-B-BASED RARE EARTH MAGNET PARTICLES, PROCESS FOR PRODUCING THE R-T-B-BASED RARE EARTH MAGNET PARTICLES, AND BONDED MAGNET
An object of the present invention is to enhance a coercive force of magnetic particles by promoting formation of a continuous R-rich grain boundary phase in a crystal grain boundary of a magnetic phase of the particles, and to thereby obtain R-T-B-based rare earth magnet particles further having a high residual magnetic flux density. The present invention relates to production of R-T-B-based rare earth magnet particles capable of exhibiting a high coercive force even when a content of Al therein is reduced, and a high residual magnetic flux density, in which formation of an R-rich grain boundary phase therein can be promoted by heat-treating Al-containing R-T-B-based rare earth magnet particles obtained by HDDR treatment in vacuum or in an Ar atmosphere at a temperature of not lower than 670° C. and not higher than 820° C. for a period of not less than 30 min and not more than 300 min.
HIGH-STRENGTH STEELS FOR THE FORMATION OF WEAR-PROTECTIVE LUBRICIOUS TRIBOFILMS DIRECTLY FROM HYDROCARBON FLUIDS
Methods for forming carbon-based lubricious and/or wear-protective films in situ on the surface of steel alloys are provided. The methods use chromium-containing steel alloys, molybdenum-containing steel alloys, and steel alloys that contain both copper and nickel. When such alloys are subjected to a rubbing motion in the presence of a hydrocarbon fluid, the chromium, molybdenum, copper, and nickel in the steel alloy catalyzes the formation of solid carbon-containing films that reduce the friction, wear, or both of the contacting surfaces.
Gold-colored steel sheet and manufacturing method thereof
The present invention discloses a gold-colored steel sheet capable of expressing color without peeling of a modified layer and the gold-colored steel sheet capable of forming a color-modified layer through a conventional annealing process without expensive facilities. A method of manufacturing the gold-colored steel sheet according to an embodiment of the present invention can form a TiN modified layer on a surface of a steel sheet comprising 0.3 to 1.5 wt % of titanium (Ti) by an annealing treatment in a nitrogen (N.sub.2) atmosphere at 900 to 1,200° C. for 30 to 300 seconds.
Steel material exhibiting high toughness, method for manufacturing the same, and structural steel plate fabricated using steel material
The present invention provides a steel material which has a plate shape and achieves both high strength and high rigidity by imparting large nonuniform deformation to the steel material utilizing rolling using a large-diameter work roll. The steel plate according to an embodiment of the present invention is produced by performing rolling using a rolling mill having a work roll diameter of 650 mm or more in a warm temperature region so that a nonuniform metallographic structure is formed in a plate thickness direction and thus the steel plate of the present invention is a high-strength and high-rigidity steel plate in which a yield strength is 580 MPa or more and a Young's modulus at a plate thickness center portion or a surface layer portion is 210 GPa or more and a difference in Young's moduli at the plate thickness center portion and the surface layer portion is 5 GPa or more in a case in which a tensile direction in a tensile test is at least any one of a rolling direction, a plate width direction, or a direction forming an angle difference of 45 degrees from the rolling direction and the plate width direction.
Assembly component
The present invention relates to an assembly component of an alloy based on iron, nickel and/or cobalt containing at least 10% (w/w) chromium, the assembly component having an annular shape with an inner surface and an outer surface and a thickness between the inner surface and the outer surface in the range of 0.1 mm to 5 mm, the alloy having a content of nitrogen in solid solution providing a microhardness in the range of 250 HV.sub.0.05 to 370 HV.sub.0.05 at a depth from the surface in the range of 0 μm to 100 μm. The invention also relates to an assembly with the assembly component.
BEARING ASSEMBLY
A bearing assembly, particularly refrigerant lubricated bearing assembly, having at least an inner ring and an outer ring, which are rotatable to each other. At least one bearing ring is made from a nitrogen-alloyed stainless steel having a nitrogen (N) content of more than 0.6 wt.-%. A method for manufacturing such a bearing ring is also provided.

Method for producing metallic components having adapted component properties
The invention relates to a method for producing a sheet steel component by means of a press hardening or form hardening process, the sheet steel component being produced by virtue of the fact that a sheet bar composed of at least one region made of a highly hardenable carbon/manganese/boron steel and at least one dual-phase steel is cold-formed, then heated, and then quenched in a cooling press or a sheet bar composed of at least one region made of a highly hardenable carbon/manganese/boron steel and at least one region made of a dual-phase steel is heated to a temperature above the austenitization temperature of the highly hardenable steel material and is then formed into the sheet steel component in a single stroke or in a plurality of strokes in a forming and cooling press, wherein as a softer material and as a partner for the highly hardenable carbon/manganese/boron steel, a dual-phase steel is used, whose Ac3 value is increased until at the required annealing temperatures, with the austenitization of the carbon/manganese/boron steel, only a partial austenitization of the dual-phase steel takes place so that when loaded into the cooling press, the dual-phase steel has a ferritic matrix, and in addition to this, austenite is present.
