Multicomponent alloy coating

A multicomponent alloy coating is provided. The multicomponent alloy coating includes a hard layer and a plurality of nickel-based particles dispersed in the hard layer. The composition of the multicomponent alloy coating is represented by the following formula (I):
Al.sub.dCo.sub.eCr.sub.gFe.sub.hNi.sub.iSi.sub.jC.sub.kO.sub.m  formula (I), wherein 1<d<2, 0.5<e<0.8, 2<g<3.2, 0.05<h<0.3, 2<i<3, j=1, k≥0, m≥0, and iron is present in the amount of less than 3 wt % of the composition of the multicomponent alloy coating.

Provided are: a method for producing an alloy member that is fabricated by additive manufacturing and has increased mechanical strength and ductility as well as higher corrosion resistance; and the alloy member produced from this method. The alloy member production method comprises: an additive manufacturing step for forming products by additive manufacturing using an alloy powder including each of Co, Cr, Fe, Ni, and Ti in the range of 5-35 atom % and Mo in the range of greater than 0 atom % and 8 atom % or less, the balance comprising unavoidable impurities; a heat treatment step for raising a temperature of the products through heating, and holding the products in the temperature range of 1080-1180° C.; and a forced cooling step for cooling the products after the heat treatment in the temperature range from the holding temperature to 800° C. at a cooling rate of 110-2400° C./min.

A soft magnetic metal powder or the like from which a soft magnetic metal fired body can be provided has a high magnetic permeability μ and a specific resistance ρ and is contained in a coil-type electronic component having sufficiently high inductance L and Q value and unlikely to be plating-extended and short-circuited. A soft magnetic metal powder contains soft magnetic metal particles containing at least Fe and Ni. Said soft magnetic metal powder further contains P, Si, Cr and/or M. M is at least one selected from among B, Co, Mn, Ti, Zr, Hf, Nb, Ta, Mo, Mg, Ca, Sr, Ba, Zn, Al, and rare earth elements. The content of each element is within a predetermined range.

An Fe-based alloy for melting-solidification shaping including, in mass %: 18.0≤Co<25.0; 12.0≤Mo+W/2≤20.0; 0.2≤Mn≤5.0; 0.5≤Ni≤10.0; and 0≤Si≤1.0, with the balance being Fe and unavoidable impurities, and satisfying the following expressions (1) and (2) when [M] represents a content of an element M expressed in mass % basis, 58≤[Co]+3([Mo]+[W]/2)≤95 (1), A/B≥1.6 (2) where A=[Co]+[Ni]+3[Mn], and B=[Mo]+[W]/2+[Si], in which when the Fe-based alloy includes no Mo, the expressions (1) and (2) are calculated using [Mo]=0, when the Fe-based alloy includes no Si, the expression (2) is calculated using [Si]=0, and when the Fe-based alloy includes no W, the expressions (1) and (2) are calculated using [W]=0.

Self lubricating titanium aluminide composite material

A composite material having an alloy matrix including titanium, aluminum, niobium, manganese, boron, and carbon is disclosed. The composite material includes, by atomic percentage, 40.0% to 50.0% Al, 1.0% to 8.0% Nb, 0.5% to 2.0% Mn, 0.1% to 2.0% B, and 0.01% to 0.2% C. The composite material is doped with a solid lubricant such as MoS.sub.2, ZnO, CuO, hexagonal boron nitride (hBN), WS.sub.2, AgTaO.sub.3, CuTaO.sub.3, CuTa.sub.2O.sub.6, or combinations thereof. Components composed of the composite material exhibit increased ductility at room temperature and reduced fracture tendency, resulting in improved durability.

A composite material having an alloy matrix including titanium, aluminum, niobium, manganese, boron, and carbon is disclosed. The composite material includes, by atomic percentage, 40.0% to 50.0% Al, 1.0% to 8.0% Nb, 0.5% to 2.0% Mn, 0.1% to 2.0% B, and 0.01% to 0.2% C. The composite material is doped with a solid lubricant such as MoS.sub.2, ZnO, CuO, hexagonal boron nitride (hBN), WS.sub.2, AgTaO.sub.3, CuTaO.sub.3, CuTa.sub.2O.sub.6, or combinations thereof. Components composed of the composite material exhibit increased ductility at room temperature and reduced fracture tendency, resulting in improved durability.

METHODS OF FURNACE-LESS BRAZING

A method of furnace-less brazing of a substrate is provided. The method includes providing a substrate having a braze region thereon; disposing braze precursor material containing a nickel powder, an aluminum powder, and a platinum group metal powder on the braze region; and initiating an exothermic reaction of the braze precursor material such that the exothermic reaction produces a braze material that reaches a braze temperature above the solidus temperature of the braze material. A braze precursor material is also provided.

This thermoelectric conversion module is formed by electrically connecting, by a conductive member, one end of an n-type thermoelectric conversion element having a negative Seebeck coefficient and having a half-Heusler structure to one end of a p-type thermoelectric conversion element containing an oxide having a positive Seebeck coefficient at a temperature of 25° C. or higher. The conductive member is connected to the n-type thermoelectric conversion element and the p-type thermoelectric conversion element through a connection layer containing a conductive metal comprising silver, and the connection layer is characterized by further containing an oxide to reduce the bond resistance between the n-type thermoelectric conversion element and/or the p-type thermoelectric conversion element.
