ALLOY AND COMPOSITE FORMATION BY REACTIVE SYNTHESIS DURING ADDITIVE MANUFACTURING
Methods for forming metal alloys, including refractory intermetallic alloys, and ceramic composites using reactive synthesis during additive manufacturing (AM) are provided. In the AM processes, an exothermic reaction path is used, such that the heat from the reaction drives the synthesis reaction. Using this approach, component powders that are readily available from commercial vendors or easily synthesized using conventional methods are mixed in selected amounts and subsequently reacted via AM to produce metal alloys or ceramic composites.
Preparation method of in-situ ternary nanoparticle-reinforced aluminum matrix composite
The present invention provides a method for preparing an in-situ ternary nanoparticle-reinforced aluminum matrix composite (AMC). In this method, an in-situ reaction generation technique is used, and with a powder containing formation elements for producing reinforcing particles as a reactant, in conjunction with a low-frequency rotating magnetic field/ultrasonic field regulation technique, an aluminum-based composite material is prepared using nanoparticle intermediate alloy re-melting. An AA6016-based composite material reinforced by ternary nanoparticles has an average particle size of 65 nm, and has an obvious refinement phenomenon compared with unitary and dual-phase nanoparticles.
METHOD FOR PRODUCING A MACHINING SEGMENT FOR THE DRY MACHINING OF CONCRETE MATERIALS
A method for producing a machining segment for a machining tool, where the machining segment is connectable to a basic body of the machining tool by an underside of the machining segment, includes producing a green body by placing first hard material particles in a matrix material in a defined particle pattern, where the first hard material particles have a projection with respect to the matrix material. The green body is processed by hot pressing under temperature and pressure between a first press punch, which forms the underside, and a second press punch, which forms an upper side of the machining segment, to form the machining segment, where the upper side is opposite from the underside.
NANO DISPERSION COPPER ALLOY WITH HIGH AIR-TIGHTNESS AND LOW FREE OXYGEN CONTENT AND BRIEF MANUFACTURING PROCESS THEREOF
Disclosed is a nano dispersion copper alloy with high air-tightness and low free oxygen content and a brief manufacturing process thereof, wherein alloy comprises the following components: Al.sub.2O.sub.3, Ca and La. The manufacturing process comprises the following steps of: preparing Cu—Al.sub.2O.sub.3 alloy powder by an internal oxidation method; mixing the Cu—Al.sub.2O.sub.3 alloy powder with Cu—Ca—La alloy powder; sheathing the mixed powder under protection of argon; performing hot extrusion and then rotary forging; vacuumizing the sheath after the rotary forging; and sealing and placing the sheath in a nitrogen atmosphere with a temperature of 450° C. to 550° C. and a pressure intensity of 40 Mpa to 60 Mpa for 3 hours to 5 hours. The dispersion copper prepared by the present disclosure has the advantages of low free oxygen content (≤15 ppm), high dimensional stability, good air-tightness and an air leakage rate≤1.0×10.sup.−10 Pa m.sup.3/s after hydrogen annealing.
METHOD FOR TUNING THERMAL EXPANSION PROPERTIES IN AN ADDITIVE MANUFACTURING FEEDSTOCK MATERIAL
A feedstock material for use in an additive manufacturing apparatus is prepared from a first material and a metal organic framework (MOF). The MOF comprises a plurality of nodes and a plurality of linkers, the plurality of linkers coupled to the plurality of nodes, thereby forming a framework. The MOF has a lower coefficient of thermal expansion than a coefficient of thermal expansion for the first material. As a result, the feedstock material has a reduced coefficient of thermal expansion as compared to the first material alone and thus exhibits low thermal expansion as its temperature is increased. The coefficient of thermal expansion for the MOF may be modified by using a different plurality of nodes and/or a different plurality of linkers, as well as by incorporating guest molecules or atoms into the framework of the MOF.

A copper-based nanocomposite includes a matrix including copper, and nanostructures dispersed in the matrix, wherein the nanocomposite has a yield strength of about 300 MPa or greater, and a ductility of about 5% or greater. Manufacturing methods of a copper-based nanocomposite are also provided.
Method for producing porous carbon material and spherical porous carbon material
A novel method for producing a porous carbon material which makes it possible to easily produce a porous carbon material having a desired shape; and a spherical porous carbon material are provided. The method includes immersing a carbon-containing material having a desired shape and composed of a compound, alloy or non-equilibrium alloy containing carbon in a metal bath, the metal bath having a solidification point that is lower than a melting point of the carbon-containing material, the metal bath being controlled to a lower temperature than a minimum value of a liquidus temperature within a compositional fluctuation range extending from the carbon-containing material to carbon by decreasing the other non-carbon main components, to thereby selectively elute the other non-carbon main components into the metal bath while maintaining an external shape of the carbon-containing material to give a porous carbon material having microvoids.
