Surface treatment apparatus and surface treatment method

A surface treatment apparatus includes a treatment vessel including a treatment space in which a metal component is disposed, a spray nozzle that supplies mist of a non-chromate conversion treatment liquid to the treatment space, and a circulation device that collects the non-chromate conversion treatment liquid from the treatment space and supplies the non-chromate conversion treatment liquid to the spray nozzle.

Lithium cell electrode using surface-modified copper foil current collector

A copper foil, intended for use as a current collector in a lithium-containing electrode for a lithium-based electrochemical cell, is subjected to a series of chemical oxidation and reduction processing steps to form a field of integral copper wires extending outwardly from the surfaces of the current collector (and from the copper content of the foil) to be coated with a resin-bonded porous layer of particles of active electrode material. The copper wires serve to anchor thicker layers of porous electrode material and enhance liquid electrolyte contact with the electrode particles and the current collector to improve the energy output of the cell and its useful life.

The present invention provides a process for the removal of chromium contaminants on a spent ruthenium sputtering target used in Plasma Vapor Deposition by the steps of grit abrasion, organic solvent cleaning, and being subjected to an electric field in an acidic bath including a surfactant, and followed by subsequent water and air rinse and further grit abrasion. Removal of the contaminants is verified by spectroscopy.
