CONFORMAL YTTRIUM OXIDE COATING
Exemplary methods of coating a semiconductor component substrate may include submerging the semiconductor component substrate in an alkaline electrolyte. The alkaline electrolyte may include yttrium. The methods may include igniting a plasma at a surface of the semiconductor component substrate for a period of time less than or about 12 hours. The methods may include forming a yttrium-containing oxide on the semiconductor component substrate. A surface of the yttrium-containing oxide may be characterized by a yttrium incorporation of greater than or about 10 at. %.

Highly corrosion-resistant plated steel sheet having excellent plating adhesion and resistance to liquid metal embrittlement
Provided is a highly corrosion-resistant plated steel sheet having plating adhesion and resistance to liquid metal embrittlement. A highly corrosion-resistant plated steel sheet comprises a base steel sheet and a plated layer, which sequentially comprises an Fe—Al alloy layer and an MgZn.sub.2 layer from an interface with the base steel sheet.
Organosiloxane-based surface treatments for enhancing the adhesion and lubricity of metal surfaces
Compositions for treating a substrate to provide increased lubricity to portions of the substrate surface that come into contact with the surface of a mating component are provided. The treated substrates provide improved lubricity, while maintaining adhesion between the surface of the substrate and an overlying polymer coating and imparting corrosion resistance to the substrate surface. The compositions include a silanol coupling agent in combination with lubricating particles, and an acid, which are dissolved or dispersed in a mixture of organic solvent and water.
SURFACE-TREATED COPPER FOIL, METHOD FOR PRODUCING SAME, AND NEGATIVE ELECTRODE FOR SECONDARY BATTERY INCLUDING SAME
Disclosed herein are a surface-treated copper foil for a negative electrode current collector for secondary batteries, a method for producing the same, and a negative electrode for secondary batteries including the same. The surface-treated copper foil includes needle-shaped copper particles formed on at least one surface thereof, wherein the copper particles have an average major-axis length of about 0.6 μm to about 2.0 μm and are separated from one another by a distance of about 1 μm to about 5 μm.
COATING FOR A SUBSTRATE
A coating for a substrate includes a first portion and a second portion. The first portion includes a first liquid silicone rubber, carbon nanotubes at a concentration of at least about 0.5% by weight of the first portion, and at least one ferrite-containing component chosen from carbon ferrite and nickel manganese ferrite. The second portion includes a second liquid silicone rubber, carbon nanotubes at a concentration of at least about 0.5% by weight of the second portion, and at least one ferrite-containing component chosen from carbon ferrite and nickel manganese ferrite. Methods of producing the coating are also disclosed.
Painted steel sheet provided with a zinc coating
A steel sheet is provided with a coating having at least one layer of zinc and a top layer of paint applied by cataphoresis. The zinc layer is deposited by a jet vapor deposition process in a deposition chamber maintained at a pressure between 6.Math.10.sup.−2 mbar and 2.Math.10.sup.−1 mbar. A fabrication method and an installation are also provided.
Methods for forming vertically cracked thermal barrier coatings and articles including vertically cracked thermal barrier coatings
A method for forming a vertically cracked thermal barrier coating is disclosed including positioning an article relative to a heat source. The article includes a thermal barrier coating disposed on a first surface of a substrate, and the substrate includes a second surface distal across the substrate from the first surface. Heat is applied locally to at least one discrete portion of the second surface of the substrate. At least one vertical crack in the thermal barrier coating is formed disposed over the at least one discrete portion. An article is disclosed including a substrate and a vertically-cracked thermal barrier coating disposed on the substrate. The vertically cracked thermal barrier coating includes at least one vertical crack in the thermal barrier coating and at least one of a low density of less than 85% of a theoretical density for the thermal barrier coating and a selective crack distribution.
