Method of delinting cotton seeds
09963802 · 2018-05-08 · ·

A method of delinting cotton seeds with an alkanesulfonic acid comprises the steps of applying the alkanesulfonic acid to surfaces of linted cotton seeds, optionally heating the linted cotton seeds, and applying mechanical force to the surfaces of the linted cotton seeds. A composition for delinting cotton seeds comprises an alkanesulfonic acid (e.g. methanesulfonic acid (MSA)), a surfactant, and water.

NATURAL PLANT FIBER PILE FABRIC TEXTILE
20250011982 · 2025-01-09 ·

A method of making a plant-based deep pile fabric that closely resembles animal fur or wool, that includes extracting the plant fibers from the plant material and forming a yarn or sliver made from plant fibers and simultaneously attaching it to a scrim also made from plant fibers, where the fiber is attached and extends from the scrim to form a length of plant-fiber pile fabric having natural plant fibers on one side and the scrim on the opposite side. The method includes finishing the scrim side of the fabric with an adhesive agent to attach the fibers to the scrim and form a stable base. The method also includes finishing the plant fiber pile side of the fabric by applying fur-industry specific processing steps to alter the properties of the fibers resulting in an even closer resemblance of animal fur.

There is provided a device, process and system for decortication of biomass comprising hurd, bark and bast, such as long stalk biomass. Typically, one or more of the bark, hurd or bast generated by the decortication process or decorticator device is fed to a downstream process or downstream device such as a counter current extractor. The liquid or fibre products of decorticator, or the decorticator in combination with the counter current extractor may be further processed into their components.
