A sheet manufacturing apparatus includes a first transport unit, a second transport belt disposed with a part thereof shifted from the first transport unit toward the downstream side in a transport direction of the web, a suction chamber positioned in an inner side of the second transport belt and configured to create suction inside the suction chamber to suck the web onto the second transport belt, and a current plate positioned inside of the suction chamber to adjust an air current. The current plate has a plurality of holes, and is spaced apart from a surface of the second transport belt such that the air current is diffused between the current plate and the surface of the second transport belt to achieve a uniform suction force in a width direction of the second transport belt.

MANUFACTURING METHOD OF CARBON FIBER SHEET MOLDING COMPOUND AND MANUFACTURING APPARATUS OF A CARBON FIBER SHEET MOLDING COMPOUND

A manufacturing apparatus of a carbon fiber sheet molding compound. The manufacturing apparatus includes a chopper which is disposed above a moving path of a carrier film; a bundle loosener which is used for loosening a continuous carbon fiber bundle drawn out from a package and fed to the chopper; and a dispersing roll which is rotationally driven to disperse chopped carbon fiber bundles generated by cutting the continuous carbon fiber bundle with the chopper. The bundle loosener has a gear pair of two gears meshing with each other, where each of the gears may be a spur gear. A method of manufacturing a carbon fiber sheet molding compound which involves using the manufacturing apparatus.

Method for nonwoven textiles with variable zonal properties

Methods and systems are provided for a process to generate a nonwoven textile. In one example, the nonwoven textile may have layered, zonal properties resulting from entangling of two or more types of staple fibers through a merging region between the layers of staple fibers while maintaining distinct zones, each zone comprising a type of staple fiber. Furthermore, the process may include embedding a filament layer into the nonwoven textile via a continuous assembly line.

Crosslapper, in particular arranged at the outlet from a carding device producing a web of fibers, in particular nonwoven fibers, comprising a front belt carrying the web of fibers in the crosslapper to an infeed or accumulator carriage, a rear belt carrying the accumulated web to a layering carriage and an apron on an upper strand (2; 2; 2) of which the layering carriage deposits the web accumulated by the accumulator carriage alternately on the bias in one direction and in the other direction to form a lap (N) moving at a speed V1(t) that varies as a function of time, in particular in a periodic manner, the crosslapper also comprising an output belt strand (20; 20; 20) on which the lap (N) leaves the crosslapper at a speed V2(t) that is different from the speed V1(t), in particular at a constant speed, the lap (N) undergoing at least one turn between the upper strand (2; 2; 2) and the output belt strand (20; 20; 20), in particular through 180, around a roller (3.2; 4.1; 3.7) mounted such that it can move in translation along the output belt strand (20; 20; 20), the lap (N) being sandwiched between another strand, turned in the opposite direction to the upper strand (2), of the apron and the output belt strand (20) and/or between another strand, turned in the opposite direction to the upper strand (2; 2), of the apron and an upper strand of an intermediate apron (30; 30) and/or between a lower strand of an intermediate apron (30; 30) and the output belt strand (20; 20).
