A measuring device for measuring the fineness and maturity of cotton fibers is provided. The measuring device includes a measuring chamber; a supply conduit; a flow regulator arranged along the supply conduit; a first pressure sensor upstream of the flow regulator; a second pressure sensor downstream of the flow regulator; an electronic proportional pressure regulator for regulating the air pressure in the supply conduit; and an electronic processing and control unit programmed to control the electronic proportional pressure regulator as a function of the detections of the first sensor and of the second sensor or of the second sensor alternatively and respectively to keep the difference between the air pressure upstream and downstream of the flow regulator or the air pressure entering the measuring chamber substantially constant and equal to a predeterminable value.

The present invention refers to a measuring device (600) for measuring the fineness and maturity of cotton fibers, such a measuring device (600) comprises a measuring chamber (CM) into which a sample of cotton fibers can be inserted, the measuring chamber (CM) comprises a first base and a second base that are opposite each other and that can be crossed by an air flow entering the measuring chamber (CM) through the first base and exiting from the measuring chamber (CM) through the second base, a supply conduit (619) having an inlet end associable with an air flow source and an outlet end associated with the first base of the measuring chamber, a flow regulator (611) arranged along the supply conduit (609) between its inlet and outlet ends, a first pressure sensor (612) for detecting the air pressure that is arranged along the supply conduit (609) upstream of the flow regulator (611), a second pressure sensor (613) for detecting the air pressure that is arranged along the supply conduit (609) downstream of the flow regulator (611) and upstream of the first base of the measuring chamber (CM), an electronic proportional pressure regulator (614) arranged along the supply conduit upstream of the first pressure sensor (612) for regulating the air pressure in the supply conduit (609), and an electronic processing and control unit (615) associated with the first sensor (612), with the second sensor (613) and with the electronic proportional pressure regulator (614) and that is programmed to control the electronic proportional pressure regulator (614) as a function of the detections of the first sensor (612) and of the second sensor (613) or of the second sensor (613) alternatively and respectively to keep the difference between the air pressure upstream and downstream of the flow regulator (611) or the air pressure entering the measuring chamber (CM) substantially constant and equal to a predeterminable value.
A MACHINE CONTROLLER FOR CONTROLLING OPERATION OF A MACHINE OF A SPINNING MILL, AS WELL AS AN ELECTRONIC DEVICE AND A METHOD FOR UPDATING SUCH MACHINE CONTROLLERS
A machine controller for operation of a spinning mill machine includes a storage of an operating system code, container daemon code, and a plurality of container images. A processor section performs the following: provide a running operating system based on the operating system code; provide a running container daemon based on the container daemon code; and provide running containers based on the plurality of container images. The running operating system includes access functions for accessing the machine of the spinning mill and each one of a set of the running containers provides a service for controlling operation of the spinning mill machine. The running container daemon concurrently interfaces services of the running containers with access functions of the running operating system. The machine controller further includes an update service that updates the container images of the machine controller.
Fiber preparation machine
A fiber preparation machine for processing fiber material includes a store or filling chute for storing the fiber material before or after processing. A camera is directed into an interior of the store or filling chute, the camera having an optical axis oriented at an angle () with respect to a vertical axis that is perpendicular to a surface of the fiber material in a range of plus 30 degrees to minus 30 degrees. The camera has a resolution for detecting a particle having an extension of 0.1 mm2 on the surface of the fiber material.
Fiber preparation machine
A fiber preparation machine for processing fiber material includes a store or filling chute for storing the fiber material before or after processing. A camera is directed into an interior of the store or filling chute, the camera having an optical axis oriented at an angle () with respect to a vertical axis that is perpendicular to a surface of the fiber material in a range of plus 30 degrees to minus 30 degrees. The camera has a resolution for detecting a particle having an extension of 0.1 mm2 on the surface of the fiber material.
Carder
A carder has a drum formed as a hollow cylinder having a drum wall, a longitudinal axis, a circumference, an outer surface, a length, and a clothing provided on the outer surface. Working elements are arranged relative to the outer surface of the drum. Stub axles or a continuous axle is formed along the longitudinal axis of the drum and connected to the drum wall by spokes or disks. One or more acceleration sensors that measures structure-borne sound are mounted on one or more of: a side of the drum wall facing the longitudinal axis, the stub axles, the continuous axle, the spoked, or the disks within the length of the drum.
