Renewable diamondoid fuels

A method to generate dense, multi-cyclic diamondoid fuels from bio-derived sesquiterpenes. This process can be conducted with both heterogeneous and homogenous catalysts and produces the targeted isomers in high yield. The resulting multi-cyclic structures impart significantly higher densities and volumetric net heats of combustion while maintaining low viscosities which allow for use at low temperature/high altitude. Moreover, bio-derived sesquiterpenes can be produced from renewable biomass sources. Use of these fuels will decrease Navy dependence on fossil fuels and will also reduce net carbon emissions.

Method for preparing liquid crystal polymer film, liquid crystal polymer film and application thereof

A method for preparing a liquid crystal polymer film, comprising: (1) spinning a liquid crystal polymer into fibers, and maintaining the fibers for 0.1 hour to 36 hours at a temperature of 200 C. to 400 C. under a vacuum degree less than 500 Pa for later use; (2) weaving the fibers prepared in step (1) into cloth for later use; and (3) pressing the cloth prepared in step (2) into a film at a temperature of 200 C. to 400 C., and then stretching the film to obtain the liquid crystal polymer film. The liquid crystal polymer film prepared by the preparation method is good in mechanical property, and has a tensile strength that can exceed 170 MPa. The prepared liquid crystal polymer film is applied to a FPC, which makes the FPC have a dielectric constant less than 3, and a small dielectric loss tangent angle.

Liquid electrically initiated and controlled gas generator composition

A liquid electrically initiated and controlled composition comprising an oxidizer, soluble fuel additive(s), and other optional additives to enhance the chemical or ballistic properties, or a combination thereof is disclosed. The liquid composition further comprises stabilizers to enhance thermal stability, sequestrants to minimize deleterious effects of transition metal contaminants, and combustion enhancers maximizing efficiency. Buffers and heavy metal sequestering or complexing agents may be used in combination to achieve the highest degree of thermal stability. Additional ionic co-oxidizers may be added to the liquid composition to stabilize the liquid oxidizer and further depress freezing point. The liquid phase of matter allows flow via pipes or tubes from tanks, reservoirs, or other containers, through metering valves, followed by ignition or combustion modulation when stimulated by electrodes, statically or dynamically.

Pool cover

A woven pool cover fabric that includes a repeating geometric pattern with a plurality of first lines in a warp direction and plurality of second lines in a fill direction that cross one another to form a plurality of repeating geometric shapes. The plurality of geometric shapes being a first geometric shape and a second geometric shape that alternate across each of the first lines and second lines. The woven pool cover fabric further includes a water flow rate of about 10 gallons/minute per square foot to about 200 gallons/minute per square foot as measured by ASTM D4491 test method, and has a shade coverage of about 80% to about 99%.
