A loom knitting apparatus that enables the user to complete the action of creating a purl or knit stitch on a loom in one fluid step, thereby speeding up the knitting process is provided. The knitting apparatus may include a handle coupled to an arm extending therefrom along a longitudinal axis. The distal end of the arm provides a first hook portion and a second hook portion, wherein the hook portions diverge away from each other along a shared plane, forming supplementary angles relative to the longitudinal axis. The angle of each hook portion is less than or greater than a right angle relative to the longitudinal axis by a predetermined range so as to enable the manipulation of knitting stitches and working stands in the one-step formation of the purl or knit stitches on the loom.

To provide a manual knitting device which can prepare easily a plurality of kinds of pieces of knitted fabric, a manual knitting device includes a plurality of pin members. The pin member is formed by a shaft portion and a protuberant portion which is formed on the shaft portion. Each elongated projection of the first plurality of elongated projections may be proximate to the second plurality of elongated projections when the apparatus is in the first position, and one or more elongated projections of the first plurality of elongated projections may be moved out of being proximate to the second plurality of elongated projections when the apparatus is in the second position. A guide assembly may have a guide aperture that extends above both the first plurality of elongated projections and the second plurality of elongated projections. A tensioner assembly may be configured to receive and exert a resistance to the flexible filament moving through the tensioner assembly.

A crochet assistance apparatus for supporting at least a portion of a flexible filament may include a first plurality of elongated projections and a second plurality of elongated projections, and may be movable between a first position and a second position. This invention in one embodiment comprises a cylindrical rod with a rotating, removable loop head inserted into the center of the top end of the rod. The loop head is inserted into a vertical hole drilled into the top end of the rod, wherein the loop head is able to rotate in the hole. The loop head has a plurality of outwardly radially extending circumferential loops that receive wire for bending and weaving into the Viking Knit. Preferably, the rod also has an anchor hole, drilled diagonally through the rod near its top end, for receiving and securing a wire. Preferably, the rod also has a conical wire wrap attachment at the bottom of the rod for making wired end caps to cover or enclose the finished Viking Knit Weave. In another embodiment, this invention comprises a hollow cone with a rotating, removable loop head inserted in either or both ends of the cone.

The disclosure herein relates to a kit for creating a knitted garment such as a hat. The kit includes a length of yarn, a topper, a stabilizer, and optionally instructions for creating the garment from the yarn, topper and stabilizer. A method of packaging the kit for an effective presentation to the purchaser is also provided.
