A controller of a sewing machine acquires sewing data for forming a utility pattern continuously in a first direction, acquires a condition for sewing a tapering pattern including a tapering portion, generates a projection image representing the tapering pattern based on the sewing data and the condition, controls a needle bar, a feed dog, and an actuator in accordance with the sewing data to sew the utility pattern continuously in the first direction, after starting sewing of the utility pattern, controls a projector to project the projection image at a planned sewing position of the tapering pattern in a planned sewing size, and performs a tapering pattern sewing operation of, after starting projection of the projection image, controlling the needle bar, the feed dog, and the actuator in accordance with the sewing data and the condition to sew the tapering pattern that is continuous with the utility pattern.

Sewing machine

The sewing machine includes a projector, a processor, and a memory storing computer-readable instructions that cause the processor to perform processes. The processes include generating processing of generating a first image including a first object representing a first sewing pattern and generating a second image including a second object representing a second sewing pattern. The first sewing pattern is at least a part of the sewing pattern and is a state in which the sewing is incomplete. The second sewing pattern is a part of the sewing pattern and is a state in which the sewing has progressed further than the first sewing pattern. The processes include projection processing of, after causing the projector to project the first image, switching the projected first image, during the sewing, to the second image, and causing the projector to project the second image.

In one preferred mode, the operator selects by the touch panel 2 a pattern from the displayed patterns on the display 1 and starts the embroidery by operation of the start/stop switch. The CPU 10 is checking the detection signal from the sensor 3 and when the signal is on, the CPU 10 keeps the display 1 in operation. When the operator goes out from the sensor detectable area 60, the signal of the sensor 3 disappears and the CPU 10 generates the LED display 4 indicating the progress of the sewing. Since the operator can see the LED display 4 from the outside of the display visible area 61, the operator recognizes the conditions of the machine A.

ARRANGEMENT COMPRISING A VISIBLE SEAM AND A LIGHTING APPARATUS, USE THEREOF, AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING THE ARRANGEMENT

The invention relates to an arrangement comprising a visible seam, which is arranged in a sheet material part. The arrangement also includes a lighting apparatus, which is arranged beneath an underside of the sheet material part. The visible seam has an upper thread and a lower thread. The lower thread extends along the underside of the sheet material part in a direction (R). The upper thread has first thread portions along the upper side of the sheet material part and is guided, at stitch holes formed during the sewing process, through said stitch holes via second thread portions. By means of the lighting apparatus, emitted light passes into the second thread portions, into the stitch holes, and from there into the first thread portions. Some of the light propagates along the first thread portions, starting from an adjacent second thread portion, whereas another portion of the light exits from the first thread portion. In this way, the upper thread of the visible seam is illuminated.

In a sewing machine, an arm includes, on one side thereof in a first direction, a head. A needle bar is disposed at the head to reciprocally move in a second direction. A feed mechanism feeds a workpiece from one side toward the other side of the head in a third direction. The projection unit disposed at the head projects a projection image toward a bed. The projection unit includes an emitter for projecting image light of the projection image. The photographing unit disposed at the head captures a photographing target. The photographing unit includes an incident portion on which light reflected by the photographing target is incident. The emitter and the incident portion are disposed further toward the one side of the arm in the first direction than the needle bar, and further toward the one side of the head in the third direction than the needle bar.
