An element for covering an ironing surface includes: a first zone which comprises a multilayer which, in turn, comprises a first upper layer made of fabric, intended to be in contact with or in proximity to the garments to be ironed and/or of the iron, and a second underlying layer which is metallized, a second zone which comprises at least one layer made of thermally insulating material, so as to define a rest area for temporarily resting the heated plate of the iron and includes at the upper/outer surface of said second zone and/or at least another zone which is outside of said second zone, a print and/or a sign to indicate a time interval and/or a time value for which it is ensured that the heated plate of the iron can stop in the second zone without the plate itself damaging or deforming said second area.

A protective layer for an ironing board comprises an overlay portion and an edge that extends over an entirety of sides of a top surface of an ironing board to prevent slippage of the protective layer from the ironing board. The protective layer includes a plurality of tabs extending from the edge, each tab having a hole positioned therein for hanging items from the protective layer. The protective layer is stretchable to fit over the top surface of an ironing board, and the plurality of tabs are positioned on each elongated side of the protective layer and on a back portion thereof. The protective layer may be part of an ironing board cover that includes a padded textile base section to form a smooth, heat-reflective and secure ironing surface.

Ironers are provided with spiral wrappings for the ironer roll thereof and ironer belts which are subjected to significant stress during the ironing process. This leads to settling phenomena and to warpage in the known spiral wrappings and ironer belts, whereby the ironing quality is impaired. The object of the invention is to form the spiral wrapping and/or the ironer belt from a base layer and a non-woven fabric layer assigned to this base layer on at least one side. The non-woven fabric layer is preferably connected to the base layer by needling. The base layer forms a stable three-dimensional support layer for the non-woven fabric layer, whereby the ironer belt and/or the spiral wrapping may be effectively stabilized and as a result may be used for a longer period of time without settling phenomena and warpage.

Ironers are provided with spiral wrappings for the ironer roll thereof and ironer belts which are subjected to significant stress during the ironing process. This leads to settling phenomena and to warpage in the known spiral wrappings and ironer belts, whereby the ironing quality is impaired. The object of the invention is to form the spiral wrapping and/or the ironer belt from a base layer and a non-woven fabric layer assigned to this base layer on at least one side. The non-woven fabric layer is preferably connected to the base layer by needling. The base layer forms a stable three-dimensional support layer for the non-woven fabric layer, whereby the ironer belt and/or the spiral wrapping may be effectively stabilized and as a result may be used for a longer period of time without settling phenomena and warpage.
