A display device for controlling a home appliance by using voice recognition according to an embodiment of the present invention includes a display unit, a wireless communication unit configured to wirelessly communicate with the home appliance, and a control unit configured to: receive a voice command; when the intention of the received voice command is to request an object handling method, determine an operation mode of the home appliance for handling an object based on information of the object; and transmit, to the home appliance, a control command for operating the home appliance in the determined operation mode.
Laundry appliance
A laundry appliance includes a cabinet that has a front panel. A tub is positioned within the cabinet. A door is coupled to the front panel of the cabinet. The door moves vertically between a closed position and an opened position. A bellows assembly is coupled to the front panel. The bellows assembly extends between the cabinet and the tub. A sealing assembly includes a first seal and a second seal that are each coupled to the bellows assembly.
TRAVEL CYCLE FOR A WASHING MACHINE APPLIANCE
A washing machine appliance includes a wash tub positioned within a cabinet, a wash basket rotatably mounted within the wash tub, and a user interface panel positioned on the cabinet for facilitating user interaction with the washing machine appliance. A controller is configured to receive a command to initiate an appliance travel cycle and implement a responsive action to prepare the washing machine appliance for travel. The responsive action may be the automated adjustment of one or more operating parameters of the washing machine, such as performing a load sensing procedure, rinsing the wash tub, closing the water supply valves, etc. In addition, the responsive action may include providing a user instruction to prepare the washing machine appliance, e.g., by plugging bulk reservoirs, removing hoses, addressing any error codes, etc.
TRAVEL CYCLE FOR A COMBINATION WASHER AND DRYER APPLIANCE
A laundry appliance and a method of operating the same are provided. In one aspect, the laundry appliance includes a laundry basket rotatably mounted within a tub that defines a chamber that is in fluid communication with a conditioning system of the laundry appliance that circulates heated air through the chamber. A controller is configured to receive a command to initiate an appliance travel cycle and implement a responsive action to prepare the laundry appliance for travel. The responsive action may be the automated adjustment of one or more operating parameters of the laundry appliance, such as performing a load sensing procedure, rinsing and/or drying the chamber, closing the water supply valves, etc. In addition, the responsive action may include providing a user instruction to prepare the laundry appliance, e.g., by cleaning the lint filter, emptying the condensate collection tank, removing hoses and cables, addressing any error codes, etc.
MANUAL MODE OF OPERATION FOR A WASHING MACHINE APPLIANCE
A method of operating a washing machine appliance includes a manual mode of operation where a user interface device, such as a control panel or remote device, is used to input a subcycle combination comprising one or more subcycles, the one or more subcycles comprising at least one of a fill subcycle, a prewash subcycle, a soak subcycle, a wash subcycle, a drain subcycle, a rinse subcycle, or a spin subcycle. The method includes obtain subcycle parameters associated with each of the one or more subcycles in the subcycle combination and initiating an operating cycle of the washing machine appliance in accordance with the subcycle combination and the subcycle parameters upon receiving a start command.
Laundry appliance
A laundry appliance includes a cabinet defining a front opening in a front panel. The front opening is defined by a lip having a curved edge. The lip defines a plurality of apertures spaced-apart around the front opening. A tub is disposed within the cabinet. The tub defines an access opening aligned with the front opening. A drum is disposed within the tub. A bellows assembly extends between the cabinet and the tub. The bellows assembly includes a projection coupled to the curved edge of the cabinet. A deflector has a rim and a chute wherein the chute extends toward the drum. The rim is configured to snap-fit over the projection of the bellows assembly. The rim includes a plurality of hooks where each hook is configured to extend through an aperture and interlock with the cabinet.

A contactless laundry treating apparatus may include a cabinet having a front panel defining an access opening configured to receive laundry items, door attached to the front panel via a hinge assembly, where the hinge assembly may include a hydraulic system arranged on an interior of the front panel within the cabinet configured to engage with a connecting hook arranged within the door to selectively apply an outward force on the connecting hook to open the door and an inward force on the connecting hook to close the door.

Disclosed herein is a chemical dosing system for an appliance, such as a laundry washing machine or a dishwashing machine, having a water inlet, the system comprising a meter for determining the volume of water supplied to the appliance, a pump for dispensing a quantity of a chemical to the appliance and a control unit arranged to receive a signal from the meter and to cause to be dispensed to the appliance a volume of chemical that is proportional to the quantity of water supplied to the appliance. The disclosed system may enable a correct quantity of chemical to be automatically dispensed to many types of appliance, without the need to know anything about the appliance, or to derive electrical signal from the appliance.
CONTROLLED MOISTURE REMOVAL IN A LAUNDRY TREATING APPLIANCE
A method of operating a laundry treating appliance for treating laundry according to a treating cycle of operation. The laundry treating appliance comprises a treating chamber for receiving the laundry that is selectively accessible through a door movable between opened and closed positions. The method comprises determining at the end of a laundry treating cycle whether the door has been opened and subsequently reclosed and reducing humidity in the treating chamber after the determination that the door has been reclosed.
