Folding system

A system and method for welding edge seams at the edges of fabric is presented. A method begins by lowering a fabric pre-fold bar onto a piece of fabric. A pre-aligned portion of the fabric is pushed on top of the pre-fold bar so that the pre-fold bar is between the portion of fabric on top of the fabric pre-fold bar and other fabric below the pre-fold bar. The fabric on top of the fabric pre-fold bar is folded edge fabric and fabric not on top of the fabric pre-fold bar is not folded edge fabric. A folded edge is formed between these two sections of fabric. The method pinches some of the fabric at the folded end and then pulls the folded edge fabric off of the fabric pre-fold bar. After that, the method welds at least some of the folded edge fabric to the not folded edge fabric.

A papermaking felt includes at least one base fabric composed of a MD yam material in the felt running direction (MD) and a CD yarn material in the felt crossing direction (CD) and having MD end regions and CD end regions, at least one of the MD end regions and the CD end regions are overlapped with each other, the entire overlapped portion is welded without removing a part or all of the MD yarn material or the CD yarn material in the overlapped portion, and when the average thickness of the welded portion of each base fabric is x (mm) and the average thickness of the material portion of each base fabric is y (mm), the relationship between x and y of the at least one base fabric satisfies the following formula (1):
0.5?x/y?0.95.

FOLDING SYSTEM
20190376231 · 2019-12-12 ·

A machine and method for welding sheets of plastic material. The machine includes a housing with a lower weld bar and an upper weld bar. A vertically-oriented gap is defined in a gripper assembly pivotally mounted to the housing beneath the work surface. A sheet of material is laid over the work surface covering the lower weld bar and gap. The upper weld bar is lowered to hold the sheet in place and a pusher plate is lowered relative to the upper weld bar to push some material into the gap, thereby creating a fold in the material. After withdrawing the upper weld bar and pusher plate, the gripper assembly is pivoted through ninety degrees and lays some of the folded material over the lower weld bar. The upper weld bar is lowered to weld a portion of the folded material and thereby create a pocket in the material.

WRAPPABLE TEXTILE SLEEVE HAVING SUPPLEMENTAL LACE CLOSURE AND METHOD OF CONSTRUCTION THEREOF
20190345667 · 2019-11-14 ·

A wrappable textile sleeve with closure system and method of construction is provided. The sleeve has a wall of interlaced yarn with opposite edges extending in a lengthwise direction along a longitudinal axis between opposite ends. The opposite edges are wrappable into overlapping relation with one another to form a tubular cavity. The wall has a first set of closed loops positioned adjacent one of the opposite edges and a second set of closed loops positioned adjacent the other of the opposite edges. At least one flexible lace is disposed through the closed loops in a zig-zag pattern, thereby extending back-and-forth between the first set of loops and the second set of loops. The flexible lace is slidable through the plurality of loops to facilitate drawing and maintaining the opposite edges in overlapping relation with one another.

Thermoplastic Non-Woven Textile Elements
20190345656 · 2019-11-14 · ·

A non-woven textile may be formed from a plurality of thermoplastic polymer filaments. The non-woven textile may have a first region and a second region, with the filaments of the first region being fused to a greater degree than the filaments of the second region. A variety of products, including apparel (e.g., shirts, pants, footwear), may incorporate the non-woven textile. In some of these products, the non-woven textile may be joined with another textile element to form a seam. More particularly, an edge area of the non-woven textile may be heatbonded with an edge area of the other textile element at the seam. In other products, the non-woven textile may be joined with another component, whether a textile or a non-textile.
