Creating a Finishing Pattern on a Garment by Laser
Software and lasers are used in finishing apparel to produce a desired wear pattern or other design. A technique includes determining a fabric's response to a laser, capturing an initial image of a wear pattern on a garment, and processing the initial image to obtain a working image in grayscale. The working image is further processed to obtain a difference image by comparing each pixel relative to a dark reference. The difference image is converted to a laser values image by using the previously determined fabric response to the laser.
METHOD AND DEVICE FOR DEPOSITING A COATING ON AN ENDLESS FIBER
A method for depositing a coating on a continuous carbon or ceramic fiber from a precursor of the coating, the method including at least the heating of at least one segment of the fiber in the presence of a liquid or supercritical phase of the coating precursor by a laser beam so as to bring the surface of the segment to a temperature allowing the formation of the coating on the segment from the coating precursor.
Method of making an antimicrobial textile
A method of making an antimicrobial textile comprising TiO.sub.2 nanoparticles is described. The TiO.sub.2 nanoparticles are immobilized by first treating a textile with a base, and then contacting with TiO.sub.2 nanoparticles in a solution of an alcohol and acid. The textile may be subsequently irradiated with UV light prior to use. The antimicrobial textile shows high effectiveness against the growth and proliferation of microorganisms transmitted within indoor environments.
Sanitation device
A sanitation device for an appliance is provided herein. The sanitation device includes a first housing. A sensor assembly is positioned within the housing. The sensor assembly is configured to detect humidity and temperature in the appliance. A light source is coupled to the sensor assembly where the light source emits ultraviolet light. A controller is coupled to the sensor assembly and configured to send and receive information from the sensor assembly.

Using ascorbic acid or sodium ascorbate to extend storage life of base templates for laser finishing
Indigo-dyed garments are treated with an anti-ozone agent to prevent ozone-related degradation of the garments before laser finishing. Without treatment, the garments can exhibit color loss (e.g., color change or fading) from exposure to ozone in the atmosphere. The indigo-dyed garments with anti-ozone treatment can serve as base templates in a laser finishing process flow. The anti-ozone treatment of the base templates can include a rinse including an ascorbic acid or vitamin C constituent during a base preparation process. Then quantities of these base templates can manufactured and stored for periods of time without exhibiting ozone-related degradation effects.
Structure and method for manufacturing structure
A structure includes a reinforcing member made up of reinforcing fibers that are impregnated with a resin. The reinforcing member includes a first region and a second region. The first region is formed by irradiating the reinforcing fibers with plasma. The second region is formed by irradiating the reinforcing fibers with a smaller amount of the plasma than the first region. The reinforcing member is provided such that the first region is positioned in a location where more strength is required than the second region.

METHOD FOR PRODUCING HIGH-PRESSURE GAS STORAGE CONTAINER
A method produces a high-pressure gas storage container that includes a liner and a reinforcing layer. The liner houses a high-pressure gas. The reinforcing layer is formed by winding a plurality of strip-shaped reinforcing members around an outer perimeter surface of the liner. The method includes irradiating plasma on at least a portion of the reinforcing fibers, and adjusting an irradiation intensity of the plasma such that an irradiation amount of the plasma with respect to the reinforcing fibers becomes constant in accordance with changes in a transport speed of the reinforcing fibers.
