The present invention relates to a process for cleaning and/or washing down and/or feathers comprising: (a) mixing the down and/or feathers with a solution of an alkyl polyglucoside; (b) optionally adding simultaneously or sequentially a solution of a Group 4 metal salt to the mixture of (a); and (c) removing excess liquid; and (d) optionally drying the down and/or feathers.

The invention also relates to down and/or feathers prepared according to such a process.

The invention additionally relates to a down and/or feather washing and/or cleaning composition for rendering the down and/or feathers hydrophobic comprising a solution of an alkyl polyglucoside, optionally a solution of a Group 4 metal salt, and a water-repellent treatment.

METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING SURFACE-MODIFIED FIBER MATERIAL, AND SURFACE-MODIFIED FIBER MATERIAL

The present invention provides a method of manufacturing a highly functional surface-modified fibrous material with high added value, to which a novel functionality is imparted while making use of the characteristics inherent in the fibrous material, by modifying the surface of a natural fibrous material derived from an animal or a plant, or of a synthetic fiber; and a surface-modified fibrous material thereby obtained. The method of manufacturing a surface-modified fibrous material according to the invention includes attaching an inorganic material on the surface of a fibrous material by a sol-gel reaction, while allowing the fibrous material to move via an air stream. Preferably, an atmospheric-pressure low-temperature plasma is further applied to the surface of the fibrous material on the surface of which the inorganic material has been attached, while allowing the fibrous material to move via an air stream.

A composite down feather sheet is comprised of an insulating core of down feathers bound together by a chemical binding agent or binding fibers or combination thereof. The core of down feathers is of substantially constant thickness and defines opposed flat faces to which is bonded a web of stretchable elastic adhesive. A method and device for identifying the washing quality of a feather material are applied to a feather material washing apparatus and essentially entail: a sampling unit that takes an appropriate amount of the water discharged from the feather material washing apparatus as a water sample, an impurity removing module that removes feather fiber and impurities that may compromise inspection accuracy, and a laser sensing device that senses, while the water sample is static, a transparency value of a portion of the water sample that extends across a predetermined distance, in order to identify the washing quality of a washed feather material. The method and device for identifying the washing quality of a feather material exercise intelligent judgment to enable a consistent standard, to ensure the efficiency and quality of a feather material washing procedure, and to reduce the associated costs.

The disclosure provides a treatment method for thermal storage goose down and its disclosure in preparing aviation suit, comprising the following steps: screening, degreasing, washing and squeezing the goose down in sequence to obtain goose down raw materials, mixing potassium thiocyanate, octadecyl isothiocyanate and water and stirring until uniform, mixing nano titanium carbide powder, vinyl modified siloxane, dispersant and water and stirring until uniform, using the primary modified solution and the secondary modified solution to perform padding treatment on the goose down raw material in sequence, the goose down obtained after the secondary modification is rinsed and vacuum dried to obtain the finished thermal storage goose down. The disclosure performs two modification treatments on goose down, only uses phase change materials to give the goose down good light-to-heat conversion performance, improves the fluffiness of the goose down by enhancing the breaking strength and resilience of the goose down.
