MULTILAYER BATTERY PACK INSULATOR WITH MECHANICALLY JOINED LAYERS

A flexible multilayer battery pack insulator for an electric vehicle has a multilayer wall including a plurality of layers of interlaced mineral material including an inner layer having a first exposed, outwardly facing surface and an outer layer having a second exposed, outwardly facing surface. A first flame-resistant coating is bonded to at least one of the plurality of layers. A pressure-sensitive adhesive is bonded to the first exposed, outwardly facing surface of the inner layer. At least one filament fixes the plurality of layers to one another.

Electro-spun sulfur wire for fabricating mattes of lithium sulfur batteries

The invention relates to lithium-based battery systems and, more particularly, to electro-spinable solution compositions, electro-spun sulfur-polymer fibers, e.g., wires and yarns, and their use in preparing high performance sulfur mattes, e.g., electrodes, for lithium-sulfur batteries with potential applications in small-scale mobile devices. The sulfur-polymer fibers have nanoscale dimensions and yarn-like morphology. The sulfur-polymer fibers can be prepared by co-dissolving sulfur and polymer in a solvent for forming the electro-spinable solution, and electrospinning the solution. The electrospun fibers can be used to form a composite that includes alternating layers of the electrospun fibers and polymer on a current collector.

A sleeve roll belt (10) has an inner surface (11) and an outer surface (12). The belt has a body (15) and a reinforcing structure (30). The reinforcing structure (30) has first yarns (31) arranged to a first direction (D1) of the belt, and second yarns (32) arranged to a second direction (D2) of the belt. The reinforcing structure (30) also has auxiliary yarns (31b, 31c) arranged parallel or substantially parallel to the first direction (D1) of the belt, wherein the auxiliary yarns are arranged to a depth of greater than a depth of the first yarns, measured from the outer surface (12) of the body (15) to an outer surface (31-o, 31b-o) of each yarn (31, 31b, 31c) in the depth direction of the belt, and a diameter of the auxiliary yarns is at least 20% smaller than a diameter of the first yarns.
