PROCESS AND APPARATUS FOR WHITE LIQUOR OXIDATION
In a process for oxidation of white liquor, in particular of white liquor used in a process of production of paper or cellulose, the oxygen required for the oxidation is supplied to the reactor or the reactors in which the oxidation is carried out at least partially in the form of oxygen-containing nanobubbles. Due to the relatively long lifetime of the nanobubbles this very efficiently provides oxygen also for oxidation reactions in the white liquor proceeding at different rates.
PROCESS FOR SEPARATING LIGNIN FROM BLACK LIQUOR
A process for separating lignin and volatile reaction products from a black liquor derived from pulp production, lignin is demethylated in a heat treatment reactor and CH.sub.3.sup.+ ions separated out are reacted with reduced sulphur-containing components from cooking chemicals in the black liquor to form DMS a rise in pressure in the heat treatment reactor is controlled and DMS is withdrawn when a pressure of ≥15 bar to ≤40 bar, is reached in the heat treatment reactor the black liquor which is depleted in DMS is transferred to a first precipitation stage and CO.sub.2 and/or sulphur-containing reaction products are added to precipitate out a slurry containing demethylated lignin which is transferred into a second precipitation stage with at least one sulphur-containing acidifying agent, and the precipitated unrefined slurry containing demethylated lignin is discharged from the second precipitation stage; and supplied to a demethylated lignin separation step.

The invention further provides a method for preparing said compounds and compositions as well as a redox flow battery comprising said compounds and compositions. Additionally, an assembly for carrying out the inventive method is provided.
Method and a system for adjusting S/Na-balance of a pulp mill
The invention relates to a method and a system for adjusting S/Na-balance of a sulphate pulp mill, wherein a pulp mill CNCG stream containing sulphur compounds is first scrubbed with an aqueous scrubbing solution containing an alkaline agent, thereby producing an aqueous spent scrubbing solution containing sulphides, which is then oxidized in a bioreactor by means of sulphur-oxidizing microbes, thereby obtaining an aqueous suspension containing elemental sulphur from which the elemental sulphur can be separated as a precipitate and the residual solution may be used for replenishing the aqueous scrubbing solution.
INTEGRATED KRAFT PULP MILL AND THERMOCHEMICAL CONVERSION SYSTEM
This disclosure pertains to the use of black liquors from kraft pulp mills as a source of catalysts for the thermochemical conversion of organic matter feedstocks to bio oils. More particularly, some embodiments pertain to integrated kraft pulp mill and thermochemical conversion systems, which include: a Kraft pulp mill comprising a digester for digesting a lignocellulosic material with white liquor to produce pulp and black liquors; a thermochemical conversion subsystem comprising: at least one mixing tank for combining pulping liquors received from the pulp mill with an organic matter feedstock and water to produce a reaction mixture; a reactor vessel for treating the reaction mixture received from the mixing tank at a reaction temperature and pressure suitable for conversion of all or a portion of the organic matter in the reaction mixture into a product mixture comprising a bioproduct and an aqueous stream containing both organic and inorganic compounds; and a depressurizer for depressurizing product mixture received from the reactor vessel; and one or more conveyors for conveying the pulping liquors from the pulp mill to the mixing tank.

Multi-step process for the isolation of components from Miscanthus
The invention relates to a process for the isolation of components from plant material of Miscanthus. The process comprises three subsequent extractions. The first extraction yields an extract comprising one or more compounds selected from the group of antioxidants, polyphenols, proteins, sterols, acids, alcohols, ketones, aldehydes and aromatic compounds. Thereafter, the plant material is subjected to two extractions with a metal hydroxide (e.g. NaOH), the first performed at a lower pH than the second. These steps yield a sugar fraction and a Iignin fraction, respectively. Finally, from the residue after the third extraction, cellulose is isolated.
