FOAM-ASSISTED APPLICATION OF UNCOOKED STARCH AND DRY STRENGTH AGENTS TO PAPER PRODUCTS
Multi-ply paper products and methods for manufacturing such products are provided. A method includes producing a foam of water, air, a foaming agent, uncooked starch, and a dry strength agent; applying the foam to a first surface of a base embryonic ply web; providing an applied embryonic ply web having a first surface and contacting the first surface of the base web with the first surface of the applied web at an interface to form a combined ply web; and selectively applying vacuum pressure to a second surface of the base web to retain particles of the uncooked starch on or near the first surface, to draw molecules of the dry strength agent into the base web and/or to the first surface of the applied web to retain particles of the uncooked starch in the interface and to draw molecules of the dry strength agent into the applied web.
Device for generating a pattern on a clothing for a machine for manufacturing a web material
A device for producing a pattern combination on a clothing includes the following: a rotary screen, a cylindrical jacket surface with a perforation pattern that defines a first pattern component. Material in the liquid or pasty state is pressed through the perforations of the jacket surface of the rotary screen and deposited on the surface of the clothing in order to produce the first pattern component on a surface of the clothing, while the rotary screen, rotating several times about a longitudinal axis thereof, rolls on the surface of the clothing in at least one path that continuously revolves on the surface of the clothing at least once. At least one device produces, synchronously and/or simultaneously, a second pattern component, which device is connected indirectly or directly to the rotary screen. The device for producing the pattern combination also includes a post-run system.
BELT OR FABRIC INCLUDING POLYMERIC LAYER FOR PAPERMAKING MACHINE
A fabric or belt for a papermaking machine including a first layer that defines a web contacting surface and a second layer that supports the first layer. The first layer is made of extruded polymer and includes a plurality of first elements aligned in a first direction, a plurality of second elements aligned in a second direction and extending over the plurality of first elements, and a plurality of open portions defined by the plurality of first and second elements. The second layer is made of woven fabric. The first layer is bonded to the second layer so that the first layer extends only partially through the second layer and an interface formed between the first and second layers includes bonded and unbonded portions and airflow channels that extend in a plane parallel to the first and second layers.
Papermaking machine with press section
A machine or apparatus for producing structured tissue or towel using a press section.
Three-dimensional papermaking belt
The present invention relates to belts useful in the manufacture of paper products, such as tissue paper. Particularly this invention relates to a belt used in a through-air drying process for making tissue products, and more particularly to an additively manufactured belt having a particular pattern thereon which imparts properties to tissue products manufactured therewith.
Method for dewatering a web comprising microfibrillated cellulose and a film produced from the dewatered web
The present invention relates to a method for dewatering a web comprising microfibrillated cellulose, wherein the method comprises the steps of: providing a suspension comprising between 50 weight-% to 100 weight-% of microfibrillated cellulose based on total dry weight, forming a fibrous web of said suspension on a support wherein said web has a dry content of 1-25% by weight, applying a dewatering felt into direct contact with the fibrous web, conducting said fibrous web, arranged between said dewatering felt and said substrate, through a pressing equipment. The invention further relates to a film produced from said method.
SHEET MANUFACTURING METHOD AND SHEET MANUFACTURING APPARATUS
A sheet manufacturing method includes forming a web by accumulating a mixture containing a fiber and a water-soluble polysaccharide in a dry manner, a moisture imparting step of imparting the web with moisture, and a pressurizing and heating step of pressurizing and heating the web to which the moisture is imparted, in which the pressurizing and heating step performs pressurizing and heating at the same time, a pressure higher than a pressure applied to the web in the pressurizing and heating step is not applied to the web before the pressurizing and heating step, and heating to a temperature higher than a temperature for heating the web in the pressurizing and heating step is not performed before the pressurizing and heating step.
Multi-ply fibrous structure-containing articles
Articles, for example multi-ply fibrous structure-containing articles such as multi-ply sanitary tissue products, containing two or more fibrous structure plies, and more particularly to multi-ply articles containing two or more fibrous structure plies having a plurality of fibrous elements wherein the articles exhibit improved bulk and absorbent properties compared to known articles and methods for making same, are provided.
MULTILAYER FILM COMPRISING HIGHLY REFINED CELLULOSE FIBERS
The present invention relates to a method for manufacturing a multilayer film comprising highly refined cellulose fibers, the method comprising the steps of: a) forming a first wet web by applying a first pulp suspension comprising highly refined cellulose fibers on a first wire; b) partially dewatering the first wet web to obtain a first partially dewatered web; c) forming a second wet web y applying a foamed second pulp suspension comprising highly refined cellulose fibers and a foaming agent on a second wire; d) partially dewatering the foamed second wet web to obtain a second partially dewatered web; e) joining the first and second partially dewatered web to obtain a multilayer web; and f) further dewatering, and optionally drying, the multilayer web to obtain a multilayer film comprising highly refined cellulose fibers.
