SEALING STRIP AND SEALING DEVICE
A sealing strip and a sealing device for sealing a negative-pressure zone of a suction roller for a machine for producing or processing a fibrous web, such as a paper, board or tissue machine. The stealing strip has an upper face, which forms a sealing surface of the sealing strip, and the sealing strip includes a sensor unit, which has a first temperature sensor at a first distance from the sealing surface and a second temperature sensor at a second distance from the sealing surface. The first distance is smaller than the second distance. The sealing strip is formed of a base material and a protective material which is different from the base material, and the sensor unit is embedded, in particular cast, into the protective material.
DATA PROCESSING DEVICE, DATA PROCESSING METHOD, AND PRODUCTION SYSTEM
A data processing device includes: a collector that collects setting values in operating elements that control a production process for a product at prescribed intervals and collects brand information indicating a brand of the product; a first processor that performs a statistical process for the setting values, obtains representative values for the setting values as operation performance values while the product of the brand indicated in the brand information is being produced, and generates a performance value database; a second processor that performs a statistical process for operation performance values associated with brand information indicating a next brand to be produced in the production process among the operation performance values included in the performance value database, and obtains optimal setting values in the operating elements for producing the product of the next brand; and an outputter that outputs the obtained setting values.
Apparatus for measuring the dewatering of a paper machine at different points of the wet end and a method for implementing it
An apparatus for measuring dewatering in the wet end of a paper machine includes a measuring receptacle functioning at normal air pressure, in which receptacle the amount of the water of the negatively-pressurized dewatering points of the paper machine is measured by means of a pressure-difference transmitter and of a measuring weir.

At least one material for feeding through the calender is situated between the roller and the belt for a determined contact time during throughfeed through the calender. The calender also includes heating means for heating the fluid and/or the roller, control means for controlling the heating means and/or the belt pressure and/or the contact time, and flow influencing means for initiating and/or influencing a flow of the fluid in the internal space. The control means are configured to control the flow influencing means and thereby the flow of the fluid in the internal space in freely settable manner. ESTIMATING RISK LEVEL IN AN AQUEOUS PROCESS
Estimating or predicting runnability or end product quality risk level for a pulp or papermaking process is disclosed. The method includes measuring hydrophobicity values of samples originating from a same aqueous process stream. A hydrophobicity measurement signal is produced of measured hydrophobicity values as a function of time. A risk level is calculated for the process. At least one mathematical index is calculated based on the hydrophobicity measurement signal, and optionally based on the amount of particles in the sample, other property of the aqueous stream and/or production data. The mathematical index and optionally the amount of the particles, other property, and/or production data is used as a risk indicator input in the calculation. Based on the risk level calculated for the pulp or papermaking process, the runnability and/or end product quality risk level for the pulp or papermaking process is indicated.
Method and apparatus for measuring and removing rotational variability from a nip pressure profile of a covered roll of a nip press
Multiple groups of sensors are circumferentially spaced apart at each cross-directional position along a sensing roll of a nip press to measure and cancel or nearly cancel the effects of rotational variability which may be acting on the sensing roll. The strategically-placed sensors are designed to measure the pressure being placed against the web that is being advanced through the nip press. The average of the measurements of multiple sensors spaced circumferential apart provides a good cancellation of any rotational variability that might be found at a cross-directional position on the sensing roll. In this manner, a more true measurement of the nip pressure profile can be obtained and better adjustments made to reduce nip pressure profile variability. In addition, the nip variability profile may be used as a predictor of cover or bearing failures, resonant frequencies and other roll anomalies.
