Methods for controlling cell wall biosynthesis and genetically modified plants
The present disclosure provides methods of producing plants with preferred levels of cell wall biosynthesis; and uses of such plants. The inventors have identified that the GFR9, CCoAOMT and MYB41 genes are major regulators of the cell wall biosynthesis pathway. Plants with modulated cell wall biosynthesis, based on modulation of the expression or activity of the GFR9, CCoAOMT and MYB41 genes, have divergent uses including pulp and paper production, and bioproduct production.

CONTAINERBOARD PRODUCTS INCORPORATING SURFACE ENHANCED PULP FIBERS AND MAKING THE SAME
A containerboard can include a plurality of first fibers having a length weighted average fiber length that is greater than 0.5 mm, a plurality of second fibers having a length weighted average fiber length that is less than 2.0 mm, and a plurality of SEPF. The fiber length of the first fibers may be greater than the fiber length of the second fibers. The SEPF may include an average hydrodynamic specific surface area of at least 4.5 square meters per gram (m.sup.2/g) and comprise less than 10%, by weight, of the containerboard.
Filtered smoking article
A filtered smoking article includes an aerosol generation rod, a filter disposed at a downstream end of the aerosol generation rod, and tipping paper wrapped around a downstream end part of the aerosol generation rod and an outer circumferential surface of the filter and connecting the aerosol generation rod and the filter. The tipping paper is paper containing bleached pulp and unbleached pulp, and fibers of the unbleached pulp have a length of 1 mm to 4 mm and a thickness of 20 μm to 70 μm.
METERABLE FIBEROUS MATERIAL
A particle or particles of cellulosic wood pulp fibers having a top and bottom face and a hexagonal perimeter, and methods of using it.
