NONWOVEN SHEETS COMPRISING SURFACE ENHANCED PULP FIBERS, SURGICAL GOWNS AND SURGICAL DRAPES INCORPORATING SUCH NONWOVEN SHEETS, AND METHODS OF MAKING THE SAME
A nonwoven sheet can comprise a plurality of cellulosic pulp fibers and a plurality of synthetic polymeric fibers. The cellulosic pulp fibers can include a plurality of cedar pulp fibers that have a length weighted average fiber length of at least 1.0 millimeters (mm), optionally between 1.5 and 2.0 mm, and an average hydrodynamic specific surface area of at least 4.5 square meters per gram (m.sup.2/g), optionally at least 5 m.sup.2/g. The cellulosic pulp fibers can also include a plurality of softwood pulp fibers that, optionally, are NBSK pulp fibers and do not include cedar pulp fibers. The synthetic polymeric fibers can comprise polyester fibers.
Filter media comprising binder components
Filter media comprising a non-woven web including one or more binder components are provided. In some embodiments, the non-woven web comprises fibers and one or more binder components (e.g., monocomponent binder fibers, binder particles). The binder component(s) may impart strength and/or durability to the non-woven web without adversely affecting one or more filtration properties (e.g., air permeability, efficiency, dust holding capacity). In such cases, the non-woven web may function as both a filtration and support layer. For instance, the non-woven web may trap particulate matter and allow the filter media to be pleated and/or utilized in a filter element without the need for additional support structures. Filter media described herein may be particularly well-suited for applications such as fuel filtration, hydraulic filtration, lube filtration, gas turbine filtration, air filtration, and water filtration, though the media may also be used in other applications.
Joint made of shape memory alloy and uses thereof
The present application refers to a connection for connecting hydraulic tubing as used by subsea devices, by using a shaped memory alloy material. The sleeve connection made of a shaped memory alloy material is originally manufactured with an internal diameter shorter than the external diameter of the tubing, internally has a cover material made of dielectric material and, most internally, has a layer of an anti-corrosive material which is contiguous to the external face of said tubing The layer of an anti-corrosive material internally has protruding portions designed to grasp the external surface of the tubing, forming streaks.
COMPLEXES OF HYDROTALCITES AND FIBERS
The present invention aims to provide techniques for preparing complexes of a hydrotalcite and a fiber. The complexes of a hydrotalcite and a fiber can be synthesized efficiently by synthesizing the hydrotalcite in an aqueous system in the presence of the fiber.
METHOD FOR MAKING A FILM COMPRISING MFC
Method for making a film that comprises microfibrillated cellulose, wherein the film has low OTR values and especially suitable for a tropical environment. The method comprising the steps of providing a suspension comprising microfibrillated cellulose (MFC), forming a film from said suspension, wherein the film having a solid content above 40%, preferably above 50%, treating the film with flame or plasma treatment, such that a surface activation takes place on the film, and cooling the film, wherein the surface of the film having a decreased OTR value and a high moisture resistance.
OIL ABSORBING MAT AND THICKENING INHIBITOR FOR OIL
An oil-absorbing mat for disposing on a floor and absorbing an oil, comprising:
an oil absorber for absorbing the oil, the oil absorber being provided on the upper surface of the oil-absorbing mat; and a permeation preventing layer for preventing the permeation of the oil, the permeation preventing layer being provided on the floor surface of the oil-absorbing mat; wherein the oil absorber has a smoothness of 0.8 s or more as measured on the basis of JIS P 8155; and wherein the oil absorber has an air resistance (Oken Type) of 28 s or less as measured on the basis of JIS P 8117.
Mat and gypsum boards suitable for wet or humid areas
The invention relates to a fibrous mat facer for preparing a gypsum board, to a gypsum board comprising said mat facer and to a system comprising said gypsum board. The fibrous mat comprises at least one ply of a non-woven fabric, and a binder composition, wherein the binder composition represents from 10 to 40 wt % of the total weight of the mat. The binder composition comprises a copolymer comprising a co-monomer unit of a vinyl ester of an alpha branched aliphatic monocarboxylic acid, said copolymer being present in an amount from 25 to 100 wt % of the binder composition weight.
