In order to control a measuring system with a tacheometer mounted on a carrier trolley circulating on a railway track under construction and a target fastened to a railway construction machine, the carrier trolley is circulated on the railway track in a working direction from a starting position to an arrival position in the vicinity of a topographic arrival singularity. The carrier trolley is immobilized and an observation of the topographic arrival singularity is made. Then, with the railway construction machine having been brought into the starting position, an observation of the target is made. Finally, the coordinates of the arrival position of the carrier trolley are calculated as a function of the measurements made, of additional data relating to the starting position, and of positioning data of the topographic arrival singularity and data relating to a theoretical line of the track.

In a method of operating a tamping unit of a track maintenance machine, the track maintenance machine having the tamping unit is first provided on a track bed. The tamping unit is displaced relative to the track bed. A driving force, acting on the tamping unit and required for the displacement, and acceleration acting on the tamping unit are determined. A ballast force acting between the tamping unit and the track bed is determined by way of the driving force and the acceleration, and is evaluated.

METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR MONITORING THE LOADING OF A TAMPING UNIT

The invention relates to a method for load monitoring of a tamping unit of a track maintenance machine, wherein at least one sensor is arranged for recording a load on the tamping unit. In this, measuring data recorded by means of the sensor are stored over a time period (T) in an evaluation device, wherein at least one load-time progression for cyclical penetration operations of the tamping unit into a ballast bed is derived from the stored measuring data. With this, conclusions can be drawn as to the load stress situation of the tamping unit and the condition of the ballast bed.

TRACK MAINTENANCE MACHINE AND METHOD FOR LEVELLING A TRACK

The invention relates to a mobile device for correction of a vertical position of a pre-measured track, in particular for a track maintenance machine, including a measuring system which comprises a moving chord as reference base, and including a lifting device for lifting the track to a target level prescribed at a work location by means of the moving chord. In this, the moving chord is defined at two reference locations as to its position relative to a non-corrected area of the track, wherein the work location is arranged behind the reference locations in a working direction. In this manner, the position of the moving chord is defined unambiguously and precisely at all times.

METHOD FOR TRACK POSITION IMPROVEMENT BY MEANS OF A TRACK-MOVABLE TRACK-TAMPING MACHINE

A method is proposed for track position improvement by means of a track-movable track-tamping machine (6) with a three-point work measurement system having three measurement carriages (A, B, C) and a cord (9) stretched therebetween, a tamping unit (5), a lifting and straightening unit (8) for tracks and in particular an odometer. The position of the track after the correction work of the track-tamping machine (6) is recorded by means of a measurement system. In order to reduce the straightening error, it is proposed that a computer (R) calculates the difference between a predetermined desired track position (1) and an actual position recorded by the measurement system, i.e. a residual error (K.sub.h), and in that the position of the rear cord end on the rear measurement carriage (C) of the track-tamping machine (6) of the three-point work measurement system is continuously corrected in such a way that the rear cord end on the measurement carriage (C) is guided on the desired track position (1).
