CULVERT SYSTEM WITH FLEXIBLE TOE WALL
20210062452 · 2021-03-04 ·

A culvert system includes a flexible toe wall that connects to and extends down from the bottom of the culvert. The flexible toe wall is capable of readily conforming to various shapes of the trench conditions provided to receive the toe wall, before or as the trench is backfilled.

METHOD FOR RENOVATING, REPAIRING, REINFORCING, PROTECTING OR NEWLY CREATING CORRUGATED METAL-SHEET TUNNELS, AND CORRUGATED METAL-SHEET TUNNELS OF THIS TYPE

A process is used for the renovation or new construction of corrugated sheet metal tunnels. The corrugated sheets are sandblasted for cleaning and room cleaning. Then anchoring elements are welded to the rough side of the sheets. A layer of shotcrete is applied to this roughened side of the sheets to obtain a smooth coating over the crests and valleys of the sheets. A reinforcement net is placed on this layer and a second layer of shotcrete or mortar is applied to cover the reinforcement net. The top layer can be smoothed. The subsequent corrugated sheet metal tunnel includes corrugated sheets covering the tunnel walls and ceilings with the course direction of their wave crests and valleys parallel to the circumferential direction of the tunnel profile. The corrugated sheets on the inside and/or outside of the tunnel are reinforced with an applied reinforced concrete layer.

A pre-stressed concrete box culvert includes a three-sided culvert top section having a pre-stressed top slab, a first sidewall and a second sidewall. The first and the second sidewalls extend orthogonally from opposite ends of the pre-stressed top slab, and the first and the second sidewalls each include a free end that has at least one male or female connector. The pre-stressed concrete box culvert includes a three-sided culvert bottom section having a pre-stressed bottom slab and a third sidewall and a fourth sidewall. The third and the fourth sidewalls extend orthogonally from opposite ends of the pre-stressed bottom slab, and the third and the fourth sidewalls each include a free end that has at least one male or female connector to mate with the at least one corresponding male or female connector arranged at one of the respective free ends of the first and the second sidewalls.

Concrete galley water detention and release systems
10900214 · 2021-01-26 · ·

An underground water detention and release chamber including two concrete galleys and a plastic or concrete cap. Each galley has a substantially horizontally disposed top deck and two substantially vertically disposed side walls. The top deck and side walls connecting at respective ends to form first and second side edges. The two galleys positioned parallel to and a distance apart each other such that adjacent side walls of the galleys define a longitudinal channel between the galleys. The cap spanning the longitudinal channel and includes an arch-shaped body having two side base portions. Each side base portion has a horizontal strut and a vertical strut extending away from the body such that each base conforms to a side edge of a respective galley to position the cap on the galleys. The cap has a plurality of reinforcing members.

A box culvert assembly and method of forming a box culvert assembly is provided. The boxes forming the assembly comprise portions configured to allow pivoted assembly of one box into another, while reducing the likelihood of high stress or fracture. The box assembly further allows for a generally tight seal between the boxes.

System and Method for Constructing a Culvert Using Vehicle Tires

Structural cells and matrices using the structural cells for positioning below a hardscape that define a void space therein, the structural cells, matrices using the cells and methods of assembly allowing in one embodiment the introduction of a structural fluid such as concrete to provide an alternative structural cell and matrix product. In one embodiment a structural cell assembly is described comprising a structural cell with a plurality of legs integrally linked to a frame at a first frame end, the frame linking the legs together and the frame defining a generally flat plane with the legs extending substantially orthogonally away from the first frame end about the frame flat plane to a leg terminal end; and a separate plate engaging the legs, the separate plate comprising linked sockets, each socket engaging the leg terminal end; and/or linked sockets, each socket engaging the leg frame ends or a part thereof.

Retaining wall assembly

A retaining wall assembly includes a concrete retaining wall including a bore, and a cylindrical tube fixed in the bore and sized to fixedly fit to a culvert pipe. The cylindrical tube includes a tube body and a flange extending radially outward from the tube body, and the flange is embedded in the retaining wall. The cylindrical tube, when fixedly fit inside the culvert pipe, supports a full weight of the retaining wall. A method of installing the retaining wall to the culvert pipe includes providing the retaining wall assembly, fixedly fitting the cylindrical tube to the culvert pipe, and providing only native soil directly below a bottom edge of the retaining wall.
