DEVICE FOR WARNING OR BARRIER GATE
20200123723 · 2020-04-23 ·

A device for a warning or barrier gate and methods that use the device can include a first arm section that includes a tenon and an arrangement of apertures through the tenon, and a second arm section that includes a mortise and an arrangement of apertures through the mortise. The apertures can align, and fasten together, to form at least part of an arm assembly for the warning or barrier gate. Manufacture of the device can occur in the field during installation of the warning or barrier gate. The device can be reciprocated 180 degrees from a closed position perpendicular to a roadway to an open position that rests parallel to the roadway.

Warning device

The present invention provides a device for displaying hazard indicia, having a stanchion defining a first end and a second end, whereby the first end defines a first cross section that is smaller than a second cross section of the second end; a base adapted to removably receive the second end of the stanchion so as to maintain the stanchion in a vertical position; and a means for allowing the device to be collinearly stacked on top of a second device such that only the second end of the device and the second end of the second device contact.

GATE FOR CONTROLLING ONCOMING TRAFFIC ON A ROADWAY

A gate for controlling oncoming traffic on a roadway (e.g. a highway). The gate comprises an arm movable between an extended position in which the arm extends into a given portion of the roadway to inform the oncoming traffic that the given portion of the roadway is closed and a retracted position in which the arm does not extend into the given portion of the roadway and thus leaves open the given portion of the roadway for the oncoming traffic. The gate also comprises a control system comprising an actuator and configured to support the arm and move the arm between the extended position and the retracted position. The arm may be quite long and vertically wide to close more of the roadway and be clearly visible to the oncoming traffic, while the gate may be crash-tested (i.e., compliant with crash-testing criteria), the control system may be compact, and the gate may be reusable and easily repairable if crashed into.

A method and a first device for providing variables for obtaining a service at a service location, the service location including an access lane, and at least one sensor device assigned to the access lane being provided, including a step for detecting data values with the aid of the sensor device, the data values representing variables for obtaining the service as a function of at least one part of the access lane, and including a step for providing the variables represented by the data values in such a way that the variables are made accessible to a first vehicle, which is not in the at least one part of the access lane.

Surface marking assembly

A surface marking assembly for providing guidance to vehicle operators includes first and second panels. The first panel is configured to couple to a surface, such as tarmac of a road. A plurality of solar cells is coupled to a top of the first panel. At least one battery is coupled to the first panel and is operationally coupled to the solar cells, which are configured to charge the battery. A plurality of bulbs is coupled to the first panel and is operationally coupled to the battery. The second panel, which is textured and substantially transparent, is coupled to the first panel to protect the solar cells and the bulbs. The battery is positioned to power the bulbs to provide visual direction to an operator of a vehicle proximate to the first panel. The second panel is configured to provide vibratory and auditory notifications to the operator.
