IMPACT DISSIPATING BOLLARD

An impact dissipating bollard system includes a vertical stanchion and a composite energy-absorbing deformable cartridge configured to be positioned within a retaining foundation that includes a rigid core portion including a stanchion-receiving aperture and first and second projections extending from the rigid core portion. The first and second projections, together with the core portion, form the dumbbell shape. Energy-absorbing resilient elastic material surrounds the rigid core portion and is positioned within recesses within the first and second projections. The bollard system is configured such that impact energy is transferred from the vertical stanchion to deform the composite energy-absorbing deformable cartridge. The bollard system retaining foundation includes a reinforcing frame embedded in concrete and having a strength of least 30 MPa.

SECURITY BARRIER FOR FORCING VEHICLES TO A STOP

The invention relates to a security barrier for stopping a vehicle, comprising a base (2) which is designed to lie on the ground, a frame (3) which extends above the base (2) and is designed to absorb the impact of the vehicle, and a pair of loading structures (4) which are designed to connect the frame (3) to the base,
wherein each loading structure (4) comprises a spur (14) which is designed to contact the ground from the side opposite the impact of the vehicle and which is connected to the base (2) by means of at least one hinge (22) that has an axis (A), said axis sliding relative to the loading structure (4) in a direction which is inclined downwards from the frame (3) to the spur (14).

Barrier element and support structure for use in a barrier element

A barrier element for bounding a carriageway including an elongated casing, having two opposing longitudinal side walls and an upper wall joining the two side walls; and at least one casing support structure located in the elongate casing and connecting to both the side walls. Additionally, a support structure for use in a barrier element.

Traffic flow barrier with corresponding production mold and hand cart

A barrier system is used to direct and block a travel path of pedestrians and vehicles. The barriers may be shaped substantially as a truncated pyramid with a base surface and planar sides extending from the edges of the base surface to a top portion, where the cross-sectional area of the base surface is larger than the cross-sectional area of the top portion. The angles of inclination between the planar sides and the interior of the base surface are acute angles. The bollard can be cast from heavy dense materials. The bollard includes at least two overhanging lips on the planar sides of the barrier between the base surface and the top portion. The configurations of the bollards provide improved placement, such as with cranes, hand carts, and other devices. Molds to cast the barriers and hand carts to move the barriers are also disclosed.

Stackable compact high threat barrier

A stackable, portable, traffic barrier having a molded elongated body with a generally extruded triangular shape having a longitudinal axis; a separable base; a top; a first pair of opposing sides disposed between the top and the base; a second pair of arcuate opposing sides disposed between the top and the base; a plurality of vertically disposed fillable cavities disposed through the top of the body; and a plurality of caps, where each of the caps has a cross sectional shape suitable for functionally engaging a corresponding cavity.

Barrier system

A longitudinal beam barrier system comprises a longitudinal beam and a post linked together via a fastener incorporating at least one deformable washer. The link is made in a releasable and tunable manner dependent on an applied force via the at least one deformable washer. Release may be made dependent on both the magnitude and direction of the force so that release may be a result of different release forces in different force angles. The deformable washer may be designed to transfer a longitudinal beam load force from a fastener to a post wall, the washer extending around the fastener and having a first face that bears on the fastener or a part thereof (or forms part of the fastener) and an opposing face that at least partly bears on a part of the post wall or walls. The washer is designed so that, in the event of an impact of sufficient force on the longitudinal beam, post, or fastener, the washer at least partly deforms allowing separation to occur between the post or posts and the longitudinal beam.

MOBILE BARRIER

A safety trailer is shown including first and second platforms, at least one of said first and second platforms having an axle and wheels attached thereto; a plurality of interconnected wall sections positioned between and connected to the first and second platforms, the plurality of wall sections defining a protected work area on a side of the trailer; and wherein the trailer supports a ballast member, the ballast member being positioned near a first side of the trailer and the wall sections near a second, opposing side of the trailer, the ballast member offsetting, at least partially, a weight of the plurality of wall sections.
