12188191 · 2025-01-07 · ·

A modular boom for attaching to a prime mover and configured to dispense a solution to remove snow and deice a surface. The boom includes a boom shroud having a main body extending from a first end to a second end. The main body of the boom shroud has a substantially wedge shaped portion with an edge configured to engage a snow pile or windrow of snow and cause snow to flow about the wedge shaped portion. The boom shroud includes an opening in a bottom of the main body that provides access to an interior cavity. The modular boom includes a boom pipe positioned within the interior cavity of the boom shroud and has ends that extend beyond the boom shroud. The boom pipe having spaced apart apertures along the length configured to dispense the solution onto the surface. The modular boom also includes first and second end caps configured to support the end of the boom pipe and to connect to the first and second ends of the boom shroud to provide structural rigidity to the modular boom.

A snowplow blade has a rolling body, a snow removal cutting edge connected to a lower portion of the rolling body, a motorized assembly for attaching the rolling body to a means for moving the snowplow blade forward; a plurality of nozzles delivering a de-icing liquid for the residual snow left on the road surface by the cutting edge; and a circuit for feeding and controlling the de-icing liquid sent to the nozzles; the feeding and control circuit having a mechanically operated monostable valve and a feeler, which is designed to cooperate, in use, with the road surface or with a mobile member of the motorized attachment assembly in order to close the monostable valve when the height of the cutting edge from the road surface exceeds a predefined threshold value.

Interlock arrangement for powered devices

Embodiments of the invention provide an interlock arrangement with a blocking feature and a locking feature secured to an interlock member. The interlock member can move between first and second interlock orientations. With the interlock member in the first interlock orientation, the blocking feature can prevent attachment of a power conduit to a power connection, such that the motor is not enabled to power a powered device, and the first locking feature can allow a first gate to open in order to provide access to the powered device. With the interlock member in the second interlock orientation, the blocking feature can allow attachment of the power conduit to the power connection, such that the motor is enabled to power the powered device, and the first locking feature can prevent the first gate from opening such that the first gate obstructs access to the powered device.

Large Area Liquid Solution Application

A Large Area Liquid Solution Application includes a boom equipped with a series of easily removable spray nozzles, for easier cleaning and maintenance, attached to a standard truck trailer hitch receiver with a pump assembly attached onto a reservoir loaded onto a truck bed. This invention presents an effective deicing apparatus and method to spray brine evenly on the pavement. The reservoir is easily secured manually with standard ratchet straps and the boom connects to any standard truck tow hitch without the use of tools. The equipment panel with attached pump is easily removable and the pump fittings and corresponding output hoses manually snap in and out of place to allow easier maintenance and cleaning. Communicating wirelessly, the present invention is activated by a wireless key enabling a truck driver to control the system without needing to exit the vehicle and manually shut of the sprayer.

FOUR WHEEL DRIVE, SKID STEER SNOW VEHICLE WITH SNOW PLOW BLADE

A snow plow is pivotally mounted to a tractor by a compound mount allowing for multiple blade positions. The mount has an inner portion pivotally mounted about a first horizontal axis to the front of the tractor and an outer portion pivotally mounted about a vertical axis to the inner portion. The plow blade is pivotally mounted about a second horizontal axis to the outer portion. Deicer nozzles spray liquid and a spreader distributes salt and other materials in front of the front wheels of the tractor.

Spreader

A hopper spreader for installation on a vehicle has a flow regulator configured to regulate flow of particulate material from the container. The spreader has a conveyor mechanism for conveying particulate material to a spinner that distributes the particulate material to the surface over which the vehicle moves. The spreader also includes a flow regulation mechanism located between the particulate material in the hopper and the conveyor mechanism which is configured to regulate flow of material from the hopper to the conveyor mechanism.

Air Assist System For Spinner Spreaders

The present inventors have recognized that a spinner spreader system may he augmented with an air assist system in which an air current is generated to engage particles after they have left the spinner spreader system to thereby enhance the trajectory of the particles. In one aspect, one or more fans with appropriate ductwork may be added below one or more spinning disks to direct jets or curtains of air in the direction of the broadcast pattern of particles leaving the one or more disks. The directed air stream should preferably be faster than the particles leaving the one or more disks, thereby adding additional acceleration to the particles compensating opposing forces.

METHOD AND ARTICLE OF LOCATING BRINE NOZZLE FOR SPREADER FOR CONVENIENT SERVICING

A hopper for a spreader system for applying salt to a roadway surface, which hopper includes a hopper body for containing salt, at least one auger for displacing salt, a brine nozzle for dispensing brine solution into the hopper body, and a removability mechanism for easy mounting, attachment, and removal of the brine nozzle into the hopper body bottom panel.

Manually operable push from behind spreader

A manually operable spreader which can be moved from behind on a surface is especially suitable for distributing salt and other particulate materials which tend to conglomerate or clump in a hopper of the spreader. Wheels are mounted to a frame also support the hopper. A horizontal drive shaft between the wheels is coupled to rotate a vertical shaft. A distributor below the hopper rotates with vertical shaft rotation to distribute particulate material which drop via openings in the bottom of the hopper. The vertical shaft extends via a hole in bottom of hopper and carries at the top thereof an auger having a helical vane. The auger is rotatable with the vertical shaft as the spreader is moved on its wheels. The auger circulates the particulate material in the hopper as the spreader moves while directing material in the hopper towards the bottom thereof.

Systems and methods for dispersing granular material from a supply enable enhanced directional control and throwing distance. The present invention is utilizable with an integrated granular material supply container or can be configured for adaptation to a separate supply. Some embodiments of the present invention include a supply funnel, a flexible conduit, and a launcher constructed of a relatively stiffer material having a selectably openable aperture. When fed the supply of the granular material by the conduit, and moved forward in an underhanded tossing motion, a basic coordination of a triggering of the aperture opening at the appropriate moment in the toss controllably propels a substantial amount of the granular material a significant distance.
