URBAN TRANSFORMATION AND CONSTRUCTION METHOD FOR CREATING A PUBLIC ACCESS TROPICAL STYLE SWIMMING LAGOON WITH BEACHES WITHIN VACANT OR ABANDONED SITES
An urban transformation and construction method is disclosed that creates a tropical style swimming lagoon at vacant and/or abandoned sites. The transformation includes demolishing at least part of the vacant or abandoned site, excavating material from within the site; forming a basin for a large water body having a surface area of at least 3,000 m2, and constructing water containment walls on a first section of the basin to form a waterfront perimeter. The shape of the waterfront perimeter is mainly curved, the basin has a maximum width of 300 meters, and the bottom is covered with a non-permeable material. A sloped access area is constructed in a second section of the basin to form a beach. A barrier is constructed to control access into the area including the beach. At least one recreational facility is constructed including restaurants, bars, kiosks, stores, and/or cafes about the waterfront perimeter.
VENUE TRANSFORMATION AND CONSTRUCTION METHOD FOR CREATING A PUBLIC ACCESS TROPICAL STYLE SWIMMING LAGOON WITH BEACHES AT THE INFIELD OF RACING AND/OR ACTIVITY CIRCUITS
A venue transformation and construction method is disclosed that creates a tropical style swimming lagoon at an infield site of a race or activity circuit facility, the infield site being contained within a race or activity circuit perimeter. The transformation includes demolishing at least part of the infield site; excavating material from an area within the infield site; and forming a basin for a large water body having a surface area of at least 3,000 m2. Water containment walls are constructed on a first section and a sloped access area is formed on a second section of the basin for a beach. A barrier is included to control access to the beach. At least one additional recreational facility is constructed around the basin and a connection is provided that connects the outfield of the race or activity circuit with the infield site to allow transit of vehicles and/or people.
Slope roller assembly
A slope roller assembly attaches to a vehicle. The slope roller assembly includes an armature and a roller member. The armature is secured to the vehicle. The roller member is secured to the armature. The roller member includes one or more grousers extending radially from a cylindrical body. The roller member may include or be mounted on a rotatable shaft. Rotation of the shaft when the slope roller assembly is installed and positioned may result in a footprint that is uninterrupted.
Trench box and method of assembly
A trench box has first and second side panels connected in parallel spaced relation by first and second lateral supports. Each lateral support comprises connection points at each end of each lateral support that connect the side panels to the lateral supports. The connection points maintain the side panels in parallel spaced relation and the lateral supports in parallel spaced relation between the side panels. Each connection point comprises a pivot connection that permits pivotal movement of the side panels relative to the lateral supports about a pivot axis, and a releasable connection spaced from the pivot connection in a direction perpendicular to the pivot axis. The releasable connection is selectively releasable to permit the respective first or second side panel to pivot about the pivot axis such that the panels are not parallel.
Method and construction machine for working the soil
The invention relates to a method for working the soil and an associated construction machine, which comprises at least one rotating drive unit for rotationally driving a tool for working the soil and at least one feed unit, with which the tool for working the soil is placed into the ground. According to the invention, a control and analysis unit is provided, with which when working the soil at least one input variable of the rotating drive unit and/or the feed unit are read and saved, at least one resulting output parameter is read and saved at the tool for working the soil, and the at least one input variable is compared to the resulting output parameter, whereby a soil working value is ascertained and saved.
Soil erosion prevention agent
Provided is a soil erosion prevention agent which can suppress the amount of resin used without decreasing soil erosion prevention effect. A soil erosion prevention agent containing a water-borne resin emulsion, wherein: the emulsion has a solid content of 30 to 70 mass %; and the emulsion has a viscosity of 50 mPa.Math.s or lower measured at 30 C. when a water content of the emulsion is adjusted so that the solid content of the emulsion is 40 mass %, is provided.
Method and apparatus for removing underwater platforms
A method is provided for removing an abandoned marine platform from a seabed. The platform extends below the seabed mud line. In order to remove the platform, a frame is provided having a perimeter that surrounds an open center. The frame is lowered over the platform wherein the platform occupies the open center portion. A movable cutter cable is fitted to the frame. At least a part of the cutter cable is positioned below the mud line. The cutter is moved relative to the frame to cut the platform below the mud line. Such movement can be a back and forth movement wherein the cutter cable moves in a first direction, stops and then moves in a second direction that is generally opposite the first direction. A lifting device can employ two vessels and two frames, each frame bridging from one vessel to the other. Winches on the vessel can be used to provide movement to the cutter cable. These same winches can take up cable slack as cutting moves from one platform member (e.g. leg, jacket leg, piling, etc) to another.
Soil distribution planning system considering useful soil and spoil bank information
The disclosure relates to a soil distribution planning system. The soil distribution planning system according to an embodiment includes a grid-model generation module configured to receive information about three-dimensional (3D) topography, ground and a target model and generate a 3D grid model by dividing a target area; an earthwork-volume calculation module configured to calculate an earthwork volume of each grid model generated by the grid-model generation module and store the calculated earthwork volume in a database; and an earthwork-volume distribution module configured to distribute the earthwork volume of a cutting area to a banking area based on the earthwork volume stored in the database.
