Cutting Tool Adapter and Method of Underpinning Structures Using Cutting Tool Adapter for Soil Mixing

A cutting tool adapter for creating an underpinning structure and method of creating the underpinning structure are provided. In some examples, the cutting tool adapter may connect a cutting tool to a working machine arm to enable the cutting tool to cut and dislodge soil below an existing foundation or structure. As the soil is cut and dislodged, it is mechanical mixed with an additive, such as a cementitious material, via the cutting tool. The mixed soil and additive may then harden in the area below the existing structure or foundation to create an underpinning structure to provide additional support for the existing structure or foundation.

Methods of reinforcing a functional component, which may include a support pole or an well casing. The methods include excavating a treatment section around the perimeter of the functional component. The methods may further comprise compacting a fill material up to a fill elevation. The methods further comprise casting a mortar mixture, including with UHPC up to an upper elevation above the ground surface. A forming structure may be implemented comprising a length that corresponds to the intended length of the UHPC pour. Another embodiment of the methods comprises installing a sealant component substantially around the perimeter of the functional component. The sealant component is structured to reciprocally move with the functional component during expansion and contraction thereof.

Temporary support structure

The disclosed technology includes temporary support structures for use in the repair of a transmission tower. A typical transmission tower includes a tripod that receive the load of the tower and distributes it to piles embedded in the ground. A temporary support structure may temporarily remove the load of the transmission tower from the tripod to allow the tripod to be removed and replaced with a new tripod. A temporary support system may include a pile temporary support system, a beam support structure supported by the pile temporary support system, and a flower pot adapter lifting assembly configured to attach to a portion of the transmission tower to transfer a load of the transmission tower to the beam support structure.

A backing plate for drywall repair has a body having an outer periphery, and a thickness substantially less than any dimension at right angles to the thickness, made from a semi-rigid material, the body exhibiting two opposite, parallel planar surfaces, a plurality of guiding indentions arranged in a closely-spaced pattern on a first one of the parallel planar surfaces of the body, each guiding indention extending into the body for a first dimension less than the thickness of the body, having an intersection of a first area in the planar surface, and a parallel area diminishing with depth of the guiding indention, and, at the full depth of each guiding indention, a through hole of a diameter centered on the guiding indention and passing through the body and out the opposite planar surface.

Device for stabilizing and repairing cracks in concrete structures and a method for its use

The present concrete crack repair device (CCRD) can be comprised of two nodules connected by an elongated strip wherein the elongated strip can be narrower than the nodules in at least one plane. Both the elongated strip and the nodules can comprise carbon fibers wherein most of the carbon fibers are located within the same plane maximizing the tensile strength of the device. Installation of the CCRD can be performed by drilling holes into the surface of the concrete on either side of the crack and cutting a slot in the surface of the concrete between the two holes, or adding the holes after the slot has been cut, wherein the slot and holes are located in a line that is roughly perpendicular to the crack. The CCRD can then be installed by placing each nodule in a hole and the elongated strip within the slot.

METHODS AND APPARATUS FOR RESTORING, REPAIRING, REINFORCING AND/OR PROTECTING STRUCTURES USING CONCRETE

Methods are provided for repairing an existing structure to cover at least a portion of the existing structure with a repair structure. Such methods comprise mounting one or more standoff retainers to the existing structure; coupling one or more standoffs to the standoff retainers such that the standoffs extend away from the existing structure; coupling one or more cladding panels to the standoffs such that the panels are spaced apart from the structure to provide a space therebetween; and introducing a curable material to the space between the panels and the existing structure, the panels acting as at least a portion of a formwork for containing the curable material until the curable material cures to provide a repair structure cladded, at least in part, by the panels. Corresponding apparatus for effecting such methods are also provided.
