20190078285 · 2019-03-14 ·

Stormwater runoff and erosion control devices include carpets or blankets, wattles, and compact drainage filters. A carpet or blanket is a sheet of mesh material having a border formed of a different material than the mesh material. Wattles and compact drainage filters include mesh material supported by a rigid frame. In preferred embodiments, the mesh material includes biochar or activated carbon. Blankets and carpets may be positioned above or suspended below drainage grates in a storm water runoff system, and held in place by magnets. Wattles may be placed on hillsides, or between concrete barriers and drainage grates. Compact drainage filters may be placed at the outlets of catchment basins.

A connection system for stabilizing an earth wall is disclosed. The system may include a geosynthetic loop assembly partially embedded within a concrete panel. The geosynthetic loop assembly may include a plurality of spaced apart geosynthetic loops that may be connected by at least one transverse geosynthetic strip. The geosynthetic loops are partially embedded within the concrete panel and partially extending from a front face of the concrete panel in generally aligned relationship. The system may also include a geosynthetic reinforcement web including a plurality of longitudinal geosynthetic strips and a plurality of transverse geosynthetic strips. The web may be folded to form a fold and the longitudinal strips adjacent the fold may be positioned adjacent the geosynthetic loops extending from the front face of the concrete panel in aligned relationship to form a passageway. The system may include a locking member disposed in the passageway to engage the geosynthetic loop assembly to the geosynthetic reinforcement web.

SOIL TREATMENT
20180363265 · 2018-12-20 ·

A method of treatment of foundation soil beneath a structure, comprising treating the foundation soil with an ionic treatment agent, and treating the foundation soil with a soil stabiliser to stabilise the foundation soil.

Devices, systems and methods for erosion control

A high strength environmental control device comprising a mesh container having at least one interior and one exterior surface is provided. The interior of the mesh container can comprise a filler material. The mesh container can comprise a plurality of yarns, including viscose fibers, interlaced together.

UNIVERSAL POLE FOUNDATION
20180195249 · 2018-07-12 ·

A pre-fabricated pole foundation provided employing a cavity to retain pole assembly of different profile, shape, size, and material interchangeably, a tapered structure onto which the pole rests, and recesses in the pole cavity wall enabling foundation hoisting, plumbing and anchoring, whereas the cavity wall is capable to accommodate for electronic devices enclosure and fill material provides structural support to an embedded pole or the embedded pole and foundation.

Cleaning and separating fluid and debris from core samples and coring systems

Coring tools including a core tube assembly; a carrier chamber defined within the core tube assembly for storing one or more core samples drilled from a downhole formation having a wellbore fluid therein, wherein the wellbore fluid has a wellbore fluid density; a non-hydrocarbon, non-reactive heavy weight fluid (HWF) present within the carrier chamber, the HWF exhibiting a HWF density of about 2 pounds per gallon greater than the wellbore fluid density; a pressure housing cover selectively rotatable between (1) an open position, where the one or more core samples are able to be inserted into the carrier chamber, and (2) a closed position, where the carrier chamber is sealed; and a cover activation mechanism coupled to the core tube assembly and operable to move the pressure housing cover between the closed position and the open position.

Method of constructing a wind tower foundation
09937635 · 2018-04-10 ·

A fatigue resistant gravity based spread footing under heavy multi-axial cyclical loading of a wind tower. The foundation having a central vertical pedestal, a substantially horizontal continuous bottom support slab, a plurality of radial reinforcing ribs extending radially outward from the pedestal. The pedestal, ribs and slab forming a continuous monolithic structure. The foundation having a three-dimensional network of post-tensioning elements that keep the structural elements under heavy multi-axial post compression with a specific eccentricity intended to reduce stress amplitudes and deflections and allows the foundation to have a desirable combination of high stiffness and superior fatigue resistance. The foundation design reduces the weight and volume of materials used, reduces cost, and improves heat dissipation conditions during construction by having a small ratio of concrete mass to surface area thus eliminating the risk of thermal cracking due to heat of hydration.

Retrofit reinforcing structure addition and method for wind turbine concrete gravity spread foundations and the like
09783950 · 2017-10-10 ·

A retrofit reinforcing structure addition and method for an existing gravity spread foundation for a wind turbine or the like having a central pedestal and a spread section is provided. The retrofit structure addition includes a collar formed around the pedestal of the spread foundation. The collar is formed by a shape sustaining member, such as a CMP, placed around the pedestal to define an annular ring between the CMP and the pedestal that is filled with cementitious material. Radial bolts extend horizontally through the collar and into the side of the pedestal. Soil and/or rock anchor bolts extend vertically through the collar, the spread portion of the foundation and into the underlying soil and/or rock substrate. The radial and anchor bolts are post-tensioned to ensure that the cementitious material of the collar remains in compression and the bolts are always in static tension, strengthening the original gravity spread foundation and extending the fatigue life thereof.
