Method and apparatus for cleaning large pipes, such as storm drain conduits
10927539 · 2021-02-23 ·

Apparatus and a method for cleaning accumulated sediment from storm drain conduits and other large-diameter conduits. A nozzle assembly is arranged to deliver a high-volume flow of water at a pressure high enough to loosen sediment from the interior of a conduit and to propel the nozzle assembly and an associated nozzle feed hose upstream within a conduit being cleaned. Water from the nozzle assembly flushes the sediment downstream and is then collected, partially cleaned, and reused in the nozzle assembly. Mud and clay may be left in the water to increase its specific gravity and viscosity. A self-contained portable and mobile system includes a tank and apparatus for removal of high concentrations of entrained or suspended solids, and a pump and conduits for delivering a high-volume flow of water, containing quantities of suspended solids, to the nozzle assembly.

WATER MAIN FLUSHING WITH HIGH PRESSURE JETTING AND DIRECTIONAL CONTROL

A high pressure jetting system includes a recirculating unit connected to an isolated section of a water supply system which remains under system pressure. The recirculating unit includes a filter unit and a pump unit generating a circulating flow of water. A first pig launch and recovery apparatus couples a first hydrant to the recirculating unit and a second pig launch and recovery apparatus couples a second hydrant to the recirculating unit. A camera unit including a camera and drogue chute enters through the first apparatus and travels in a flushing flow direction to the second apparatus. The drogue chute is then removed from the camera. The camera then couples to a jetting unit having a jetting head and hose and re-enters through the second apparatus. The jetting unit emits a plurality of water jets to move in a counter-current flow direction and remove material from the water mains.

Root cutter collar with quick changing skids

A root cutter collar with quick changing skids preferably includes a base tube, a plurality of skid bosses, a plurality of skid retainers, a plurality of threaded fasteners and a plurality of skids. The plurality of skid bosses are attached to an outside perimeter of the base tube. A pair of tapped holes are formed through each skid boss. A location pin extends outward from the skid boss and is located between the pair of tapped holes. Each skid retainer includes two through holes, which are concentric with the two tapped holes in each skid boss. Each skid includes a pair of slotted openings and a pin notch located between the pair of slotted openings. The pin notch is sized to receive the location pin. Threaded fasteners are inserted into the pair of holes in the skid retainer and tightened in the skid boss to retain the skid.

METHOD FOR CONTROLLING ROOT GROWTH USING GLUFOSINATE COMPOUNDS

A jetter nozzle has a body with a plurality of orifices opening to an exterior of the body and adapted to release a pressurized liquid from an interior of the body, and a sleeve extending from one end of the body. The sleeve has an internally threaded portion adjacent to the body and an unthreaded portion adjacent to an end of the sleeve opposite the body. The threaded portion is adapted to engage with some external threads of a hose fitting. The end of the sleeve is adapted to be positioned adjacent a wrench face of the hose fitting and to reside over other external threads of the hose fitting.

Integral dual cleaner camera drum systems and methods

Cable handling devices, methods and systems are provided for securing and deploying, or retracting, one or more cables or hoses into or out of a pipe or cavity allowing inspection of the pipe or cavity. The cables and/or hoses may be coupled and moved together, or decoupled enabling them to be moved independently. A hand-held device with a housing for at least partially enclosing one or more cables or hoses, at least one coupling mechanism integrally attached to the housing, and a coupling control for coupling and decoupling the one or more cables or hoses may be provided. One or more of the cables may be connected to a camera disposed at the distal end of a cable thereby facilitating inspection of the pipe or cavity. Tools such as cutting devices or a jetter may be provided at the end of the one or more cables and/or hoses.

Apparatus to scrape and extract drain clog debris
10900211 · 2021-01-26 ·

An apparatus for removing a clog from a drain consists of an elongated, flexible shaft member with a corkscrew or coil member with an integrated handle at one end and a scraper element at the other end. Inserting the scraper element end into a clogged drain and manually turning the handle allows the scraper element to scrape the materials causing the clog to be scraped from the inside of the drain while the corkscrew portion of the apparatus worms through the matter that is clogging the drain, and when the apparatus is pulled from the drain the clogging matter is held within the corkscrew member to capture the clogging matter or debris for easy removal.
