MULTI-PART UNDERLAYMENT FOR BUILDING ENVELOPE DETAILS
20200392735 · 2020-12-17 ·

A multi-part roofing underlayment having independent release liners, where the underlayment comprises separable portions attached adjacent top edges of the separable portions, creating an interface therebetween into which roofing components may be inserted, easing installation and better mitigating wind-driven rain and ice dam related roof failures. Embodiments provide the multi-part roofing underlayment in sheet and roll forms and with various configurations of release liners, adhesive layers, granular layers, selvedge edges, and plastic layers.

SYSTEMS, APPARATUS & METHODS FOR MOUNTING PANELS UPON, OR TO FORM, A PITCHED ROOF, WALL OR OTHER STRUCTURE

Peel and stick waterproofing material

Disclosed is waterproofing sheeting that uses a polyester layer that provides high lateral stability and puncture resistance. The waterproof sheeting can be used in many applications including waterproof roof underlayments waterproof sheeting for foundations, underlayment for tile and flooring and various other applications. The waterproof sheeting can be manufactured without many of the problems associated with the granular coatings of existing waterproof sheeting that create excessive wear and environmental hazards.

Heat shrink covering of built structures and method

A system for providing covers for surface areas of built structures; the system including a film of heat shrinkable material for stretching and heat shrinking over one or more of the surfaces of the built structure; the film formed as a sheet comprising an assembly of lengths of the heat shrinkable material prepared on a supporting surface; characterized in that the sheet is prepared by applying heat to overlap portions between adjoining lengths of the heat shrinkable material while the overlap portions are secured in contact between the supporting, surface and a guide rail assembly laid over the overlap portions; the overlap portions welded together by a heat gun moveable along the guide rail assembly at a predetermined distance above the overlap portions.

ROOFING UNDERLAY, PARTICULARLY FOR USING AS ROOF CLADDING UNDERLAY AND/OR ROOF LINING MEMBRANE
20200376796 · 2020-12-03 ·

The invention relates to a roofing underlay (1), especially one intended for use as roof cladding underlay and/or roof lining membrane, having at least one outer nonwoven layer (2), at least one inner nonwoven layer (3) and at least one microporous membrane layer (4) based on at least one polyolefin plastic, wherein the membrane layer (4) is arranged between the outer nonwoven layer (2) and the inner nonwoven layer. According to the invention, it is provided that at least one further microporous membrane layer (5) based on a polyolefin plastic is provided between the outer nonwoven layer (2) and the inner nonwoven layer and the further membrane layer (5) is separated from the membrane layer (4) by a separating layer (6), wherein the separating layer (6) is water-permeable and/or embodied as a structure made of fibers, especially nonwoven.

Thermally insulated roofing device

One subject of the present invention is a roofing device (1) comprising an area support (2) made up of panels of wood particles on which a vapor barrier first layer (3), an insulating second layer (4) and a third layer (5) that is impermeable to liquid water are laid.

Said device (1) is one wherein the second layer (4) is a composite layer formed by the superposition of two distinct homogeneous elementary layers (6 and 6), namely a lower elementary layer (6) of wood fiber and an upper elementary layer (6) made up of a material that is at least partially bio-sourced, that has hygroscopic, antifungal and thermal-insulation properties and that has a low resistance to the diffusion of water vapor.

This disclosure relates to an article that includes a nonwoven substrate, a first film supported by the nonwoven substrate, and a second film such that the first film is between the nonwoven substrate and the second film. The first film includes a first polymer and a pore-forming filler. The difference between a surface energy of the first film and a surface energy of the nonwoven substrate is at most about 10 mN/m. The second film includes a second polymer capable of absorbing and desorbing moisture and providing a barrier to aqueous fluids.

There is provided a cladding member (13) formed of a supporting body portion (67) having mounts (54) and a head portion (12), and an absorber surface portion (70) having a peripheral boundary wall (71) defining a recess into which a solar cell array (removed in this view for clarity) is bonded. The supporting (67) and absorber surface (70) body portions are pressure moulded from polyvinyl ester/glassfibre (30%)/fire retardant (40%)/pigment sheet moulding compound. Complementary bonding portions (72) form a glue line in assembly and have complementary water passages (73) defined therebetween. The bonding portions (72) contrive a generally sinusoidal glue space (74) that is longer that the transverse sectional dimension of the boding portions (72), cooperating with the adhesive system to resist water pressure in the passages (73).

Method for covering roof with shrink wrap

A system and method for covering at least a portion of a roof with an impermeable membrane is provided. The method includes placing a strip of the impermeable membrane over a subset of the portion of the roof intended to be covered, cutting a length of the strip to accommodate a size of the portion of the roof intended to be covered, fastening a flexible, elongated band of material to the end of the strip using a plurality of first fasteners, rolling the band of material at least one half turn in the end of the strip, attaching the band of material that was rolled in the end of the strip to a fascia of eaves of the roof using a plurality of second fasteners, and repeating the steps above until the portion of the roof is covered in the impermeable membrane.
