Process for producing a surface covering with an embossed printed surface

A process for producing a surface covering with an embossed printed surface is described. A substrate (16) is continuously moved through a production line, and this substrate (16) is first provided, in a printing equipment (12), with a printed pattern and thereafter, in an embossing equipment (14), with an embossed pattern, which is registered with the printed pattern. The printing equipment (12) produces the printed pattern in-line with the production of the embossed pattern. During printing in the printing equipment (12), the printed pattern is stretched or compressed, dynamically responsive to indicators of misalignments between the printed pattern and the embossed pattern, so as to correct or prevent the misalignments. A production line for carrying out this process is also proposed.

Alcohol-resistant, chemically-strippable floor coating and composition for making same

A chemically-strippable, alcohol-resistant floor coating contains a crosslinked polymer, an alkali soluble resin, and an amine functional compound. The coating exhibits a Strippability Level of at least 40% after 300 cycles in a solvent on an abrasion machine, and an Ethanol Resistance of at least 60 percent, as measured by a 60 Gloss Retention Test. A floor coating composition comprising an aqueous dispersion of a crosslinkable polymer, an alkali soluble resin, an amine functional compound, and a crosslinker can be applied to a floor to make the coating.

Floor stripping machine, blade assembly for use therewith, and methods

A floor stripping machine for removing floor covering from a floor surface includes a base, a motor secured to the base, a rear wheel arrangement driven by the motor, and a blade assembly. The blade assembly is secured to a remaining portion of the machine and has a removable clamp with a cutter. The machine has a forward downward sloping angle, a low center of gravity, and is obstruction free for mounting by an operator. The blade assembly may include a dovetail for a variety of tool heads. One example of a blade has a base flange, a pair of side flanges with forward leaning angles, and a hook in between each side flange and the base flange.

Method of manufacturing an acoustical flooring tile

An acoustical vinyl tile having an integral acoustical layer is disclosed. The vinyl tile includes a vinyl portion and an acoustical portion. The acoustical portion may comprise a crumb rubber component and a polyurethane foam component. The acoustical portion can include 10-40% crumb rubber and 60-90% polyurethane foam. The acoustical portion may comprise a plurality of individual layers, the combination of which is customized to the particular sub-floor structure to which the tile will be adhered or overlain. The individual layers of the acoustical portion can include any of a variety of combinations of rubber, cork, polyurethane foam, and the like. The resulting tile meets one or more of ASTM E 2179, ASTM E 989, ASTM E 492, and ASTM E1007 IIC sound requirements. A method of designing the disclosed tile to suit a particular flooring application is also disclosed. Other embodiments are described and claimed.

Parking barrier system and post

A post assembly (10,10.0, 10.00, 10.000, 10.0000, 110, 210, 310) for a parking lot barrier system (11), the post (12) of the post assembly (10,10.0, 10.00, 10.000, 10.0000, 110, 210, 310) being of any appropriate section and having at least one aperture (30, 32) at or near to the base (12.1) of the post (12). The at least one aperture (30, 32) is sized and shaped so as to allow the post (12) to deform elastically under collision loads at low speeds sign posted in parking lots.

FLOOR MARKING TAPE

A floor marking tape has a structure that retains the adhesive under the tape to prevent the adhesive from being squeezed out from under the tape when the tape is in use on a floor. In one embodiment, the structure is a shoulder that defines a recess that holds the bulk of the adhesive. The shoulder prevents the adhesive from flowing out to the outer edge of the tape. The tape may have beveled edges that limit the unintentional lifting and delamination of the tape from the floor. The upper surface of the tape may be to curved from edge-to-edge to limit dirt retention on the tape as well as allowing objects to slide over the tape.
