A mortise jig assembly includes a block that is longitudinally elongated. The block has plurality of mortises therein and the block is clamped to a face of a door such that selected ones the mortises is aligned with an edge of the door. A jig panel is provided and the jig panel is positionable against the edge of the door to engage respective ones of the mortises thereby retaining the jig panel at a selected location on the edge of the door. The jig panel has a guide hole therein thereby facilitating the guide hole to be aligned with a preferred location to cut a hinge recess in the edge of the door. A pair of bolts is each extendable through the jig panel and the block for attaching the jig panel to the block.

Automated drywall painting system and method

An automated painting system that includes a robotic arm and a painting end effector coupled at a distal end of the robotic arm, with the painting end effector configured to apply paint to a target surface. The painting system can also include a computing device executing a computational planner that: generates instructions for driving the painting end effector and robotic arm to perform at least one painting task that includes applying paint, via the painting the end effector, to a plurality of drywall pieces, the generating based at least in part on obtained target surface data; and drives the end effector and robotic arm to perform the at least one painting task.

Finishing accessory with backing strip

A framing accessory includes a bead and a backing strip. The bead may comprise a first leg, a second leg, and a lip. The second leg may comprise a plurality of openings. The strip may be attached to the upper surface of the first leg. In some embodiments, the strip may comprise a single layer of material, while in other embodiments, the strip may comprise two or more layers of material. The strip may comprise material having fire resistant, intumescent, and/or sound insulating properties. The finishing accessory may be configured to be installed in a gap at a head of wall joint by positioning the first leg and strip along the top edge of a wallboard panel and the second leg extending vertically downward along the outer surface of the wallboard panel.

Separator, Tool and Method for Laying Tiles or Other Coating Elements
20220341191 · 2022-10-27 ·

A method for laying tiles or other coating elements where a separator is placed under, above and between adjacent tiles during the process of cementing the tiles to a surface. The method includes: placing a metal rod of a one-piece tile separator between two adjacent tiles, with a metal base part under adjacent tiles, sliding a tile holder onto the metal rod, where one-way steel jaws opposite each other in the tile holder are pressured towards two opposed smooth surfaces of the metal rod, preventing return movement of the tile holder along the metal rod while the opposed one-way steel jaws indent the softer metal surface of the metal rod.

Removal Tool for Flooring Planks
20230076133 · 2023-03-09 · ·

A decorative layer removal tool for flooring is configured with a removal shaft and either a drill attachment or handle to remove the decorative layer from a plank. The removal shaft includes a threaded end to attach to either the handle or drill attachment. The handle can be used when the user wishes to manually rotate the shaft and remove the decorative layer; the drill attachment can be used with a power drill for a motorized removal. The removal shaft includes a slit that extends from an unthreaded end to the threaded side. In typical implementations, the slit may not extend to the shaft's threads. At least a portion of the slit is used to receive the decorative surface layer from a plank, thereby enabling the decorative layer's removal.

System and method for aligning and leveling tile
