Method of Erecting An Offset Scaffold Platform
The invention includes a method of building an offset scaffold platform to an existing scaffold structure by using pivoting horizontal scaffold truss members, where each truss has a first end with a pivoting connector that pivot vertically and second ends that have second connectors that pivot horizontally. Each pivoting connector has a movable latch that, when latched, restricts uncoupling from a coupled vertical scaffold member but allows the pivoting coupled truss to remain moveable about the pivoting connector. The method includes the step of connecting one truss to a vertical scaffold member in an existing frame about the vertically pivoting end and connecting the second truss to another vertical scaffold member in the existing scaffold structure about one of its pivoting ends. Each pivoting connector latch is moved to the latched position, each truss is pivoted about its coupled end, and the uncoupled ends are each connected to vertical scaffold members which are supported from an overhead structure. Scaffold boards are positioned between the pivoted trusses to create a working surface therebetween.
DEVICE FOR DETECTING A CONTAMINANT ON A SCAFFOLDING POLE
A device for detecting a contaminant on a scaffolding pole. The device includes an outer detector for detecting a contaminant on an outer surface and an inner detector for detecting a contaminant on an inner surface. The device also includes a mechanism for transporting a scaffolding pole through the device, past the detectors. A contaminant is detected on the outer and inner surfaces of the scaffolding pole using the outer and inner detectors respectively.
Containment shroud system
An apparatus and method for the containment of vertical structures using a flexible, collapsible, and movable shroud. The shroud containment system protects the surrounding environment by catching liquid and solid debris and contaminants from the inside and protects the enshrouded structure and workers from wind, debris, contaminants, and precipitation on the outside as well as providing enhanced protection against falling persons and equipment. The shroud also conceals the vertical structure in whole or in part and greatly eases the setup, takedown, and relocation of the shroud along the axis of the vertical structure due to its modular, impermanent design and method of erection, collapse, and translation.
Safety device
A free-standing demountable window safety assembly adapted to rest, in use, on the floor inside a room containing a window opening in a wall, and against the wall containing the window, without engaging with the window opening, said assembly comprising: —⋅(i) at least two feet (125, 126) adapted to engage with the room floor⋅(ii) at least two arms (121A, 121B, 135A, 135B) adapted to engage with the room wall adjacent to but spaced away from the window opening; ⋅(iii) at least two side portions (125, 123A, 135A, 133A) each supporting an arm; ⋅(iv) at least one linking member (111A, 111C) adapted to link opposing side portions or opposing feet in a substantially rigid fashion. The invention also includes methods of manufacturing and using such safety assemblies.
CATWALK FLOORBEAM CONNECTION SYSTEM
A catwalk system having a pair of side trusses formed of a top cord and bottom cord connected by a plurality of vertical posts and diagonal posts. The bottom cords have a plurality of joints formed of a bottom plate, opposing side plates and wing plates that form a pocket. These pockets receive an end of floorbeams which are bolted to the side plates. The bottom plate also includes a wind brace section that receives an end of a diagonal wind brace therein. The fabricated side trusses are shipped to the job site where the catwalk is quickly and easily assembled by aligning a pair of side trusses in parallel space alignment and installing floorbeams in the pockets of opposing joints. To provide additional rigidity diagonal wind braces are installed in a zig-zag formation between diagonally opposite joints. This arrangement provides a quickly assembled catwalk that requires minimal assembly.
LOCKING MECHANISM FOR FALL PROTECTION
A flip door assembly includes a flip door and an interlock that controls whether the flip door may be opened. A worker safety system in one embodiment includes a work stand, a safety barrier, and a flip door assembly. The flip door assembly selectively engages with a keyed portion of the safety barrier to prevent access to a defined area by a worker. The flip door assembly includes a flip door having a top surface that is substantially planar to a top surface of the work stand when closed, and substantially non-planar to the top surface of the work stand when open. The flip door assembly further includes an interlock that prevents the flip door from opening when the keyed portion of the safety barrier is disengaged from the interlock, and allows the flip door to open when the keyed portion of the safety barrier is engaged with the interlock.
AIRCRAFT WING GANTRY SYSTEM
A moveable wing gantry for servicing a wing of an aircraft is configured to be positioned around a wing of an aircraft to provide access to overwing and underwing surfaces of the wing of the aircraft. The wing gantry includes a service deck positioned underneath the wing of the aircraft. An operator platform is moveably attached to the service deck and operable to move along the length of the service deck. A chair support is moveably attached to the operator platform and operable to move across the operator platform in a direction substantially perpendicular to the length of the service deck. The wing gantry includes a pivotable span platform positioned above the wing of the aircraft and pivotable between a raised position and a lowered position. The wing gantry is customizable to different aircraft wing types and styles.

Pivoting horizontal and vertical scaffold members and a method of erecting an offset scaffold platform
One embodiment of the invention is a horizontal scaffold truss that has upper and lower horizontal scaffold members offset but fixedly joined with braces. Each upper and lower members have a connector positioned on each end of the respective lower and upper members, where at least one of the connectors is pivotally mounted on the respective lower or upper connector, and the connecters are engageable with an annular member positioned on a vertical scaffold member.
