Anchoring system for railing
11401716 · 2022-08-02 ·

An anchoring system for use with an erectable guiderail intended to be anchored with respect to a base surface. The anchoring system includes a female component being positioned and sized for lodging into a corresponding hole provided about the base surface and about which the guiderail is intended to be anchored, the female component defining an elongated cavity having a longitudinal axis. The anchoring system also includes a male component being operatively mountable onto a corresponding portion of the guiderail, the male component having an inserting portion being removably insertable into the elongated cavity of the female component. At least one of the male and female components is provided with at least one tapered surface, and the male and female components of the anchoring system are shaped and sized with respect to one another so that a spacing tolerance between the male and female components decreases as the male component is inserted into the elongated cavity of the female component along the longitudinal axis thereof.

A beach umbrella anchoring and stabilizing device includes a support shaft having a proximal end, a distal end, and a hollow interior for receiving a beach umbrella. An anchoring container affixed to the support shaft includes an open top, a closed bottom, and a sidewall extending around the support shaft from the open top to the closed bottom. The sidewall defines a laterally extending reservoir for receiving sand to anchor the device underneath the beach surface and provide lateral support to a beach umbrella mounted into the support shaft. Stabilizing vanes protrude from the distal end of the support shaft and extend from the closed bottom to the distal end. Each of the stabilizing vanes defines a broad surface that engages sand when a rotational force is exerted onto the support shaft, thereby preventing rotation of the support shaft about a longitudinal axis thereof when buried under the sand.

PNEUMATICALLY SUPPORTED TOWERS FOR LOW GRAVITY APPLICATIONS

Pneumatically supported towers for low gravity applications are disclosed herein. In one aspect, an inflatable tower for use in vacuum environments can have a membrane configured to support a load when inflated with an inflation gas to a pressures less than 100,000 pascals and greater than 0.01 pascal. The inflation gas can be chosen to have a sufficiently low boiling temperature at the inflation pressure of the membrane that the gas will not condense to a liquid or solid within a defined range of temperatures in which the tower is designed to operate. The membrane can be configured to be packaged for transport in deflated condition and rolled onto cylinders from which the membrane can be later unfurled and inflated as part of the tower inflation process. The membrane can be further configured to progressively inflate beginning at a bottom or lowest level of the membrane during the tower inflation process. The membrane can be divided into a plurality of compartments by one or more diaphragms containing valves configured to regulate flow of the inflation gas between the compartments.

Soft-soft foundation for offshore structures
11286636 · 2022-03-29 · ·

A foundation for an offshore structure is disclosed. The foundation includes a tower having an anchoring portion anchored in the seabed and a connecting portion arranged at the opposite end. The foundation also includes a power generation system arranged above the water surface connected to the connecting portion of the tower. A natural frequency of the offshore structure lies below an excitation component one times the rotational frequency 1P of at least one exciting component. The foundation also includes at least one restoring element connected to the tower via one or more transition pieces. The restoring element is designed such that, in a skewed position of the tower, tensile and/or compressive forces can be transferred to the tower by means of the restoring element such that the tower can be straightened up.

Bolt calibrated angle mainstay wall connection system and method for use

The present invention provides a system which allows users to mount multiple pieces of equipment to a tower and it has the unique capability to adjust a steel frame to level without additional equipment. In accordance with a first preferred embodiment, the present invention includes a duel locking system that includes a taper adjusting bolt to adjustably position the frame level with the earth. According to still further aspects of the present invention, the present invention further includes attachable wall section elements which include at least upper and lower lateral spanning elements having first and securing weldments which preferably may integrally connect to the adjustable frame elements of the present invention. According to still further aspects of the present invention, the present invention preferably further includes upper and lower weldment connecting plates which are preferably connected to and extend from the upper and lower lateral spanning elements.

Floating body device for suppressing vibration of tower

A floating body device for suppressing vibration of enclosure includes a floating body surrounding the enclosure and an excitation device which can excite the floating body to float up and down. The excitation device includes a tether connected to the floating body to prevent the floating body from falling off from the enclosure. When the floating body floats up and down, an airflow boundary layer on an outer wall of a tower can be destroyed, and a cause of vortex-induced vibration can be directly suppressed. In addition, a change of an aerodynamic configuration is obtained. The up and down floating of the floating body disrupts both upper and lower sections of a nearby flow field, thus weakening a combined action thereof, thereby preventing the vortex induced vibration of the tower.
