Turntable tracking deployment system
09664417 · 2017-05-30 ·

An energy capturing device is positionable above a roof of a building, structure, or object. Each of a plurality of lifting components has a short leg with an inner end coupled to the building, structure, or object and has a long leg with an upper end positionable above the building, structure or object. An upper pivot member couples the upper ends of the long legs to the energy capturing device. A lower pivot member pivots the energy capturing device between a raised operative orientation above the building, structure, or object and a lowered inoperative orientation beneath the building, structure, or object. A control system allows positioning the energy capturing device with respect to the building, structure, or object.

Fastening system for mounting solar modules

A module bracket includes first and second mounting clips (202, 204) that are spaced from each other along the pitch of a roofing surface. An inlet (212) to the first mounting clip (202) faces or projects in the general direction that the second mounting clip (204) is spaced from the first mounting clip (202). An inlet (212) to the second mounting clip (204) faces or projects in the general direction that the first mounting clip (202) is spaced from the second mounting clip (204). A second module flange (134) of a first photovoltaic module (120) is slid into the first mounting clip (202) of the module bracket. A first module flange (128) of a second photovoltaic module (120) is slid into the second mounting clip (204) of this same module bracket.

Solar array mounting system with universal clamp
09601645 · 2017-03-21 · ·

A mounting system for photovoltaic solar panels providing support for different sized panels, and/or panels having mounting holes located in different locations. A universal panel clamp includes at least one elongated hole or slot to attach to a mounting hole on a solar panel frame. A clamp is attached to an upper hole, and a second clamp is attached to a lower mounting hole. The upper clamps are attached to an upper lateral support member, and the lower clamps are attached to a lower lateral support member. This assembly may be supported by A-shaped support members having adjustable tilt arms, or posts with specially configured brackets.

Walkable skylight lighting system
09598867 · 2017-03-21 ·

A walkable skylight lighting system, installed to a roofing structure, including a skylight having a pane and framing members that surround and support the pane, and including a paving surface, the paving surface having a plurality of pavers that extend immediately adjacent to the skylight. The pane is an insulating glass unit (IGU) having structural glass panels and a thermal panel that are separated and sealed by a spacer, and separately supported so that they do not crush the spacer. The framing members include an upper framing member that has a lighting channel containing an LED lighting strip that edge lights the structural glass panels in the pane.

Sealing members for weather barriers

Example lateral sealing members for use with weather barriers are disclosed. An example lateral sealing member includes a lateral sealing member being vertically elongate. The lateral sealing member has a J-shaped cross-section extending between an attached end and a tip of the lateral sealing member. The lateral sealing member has a groove along the tip. The lateral sealing member is movable between an activated configuration and a relaxed configuration. The tip to extend farther into a vehicle pathway when the lateral sealing member is in the relaxed configuration than when the lateral sealing member is in the activated configuration. A tip seal is provided along the tip of the lateral sealing member. The tip seal is to protrude in the groove.

Substantially two-dimensional construction element
09590556 · 2017-03-07 · ·

A construction element (29) which extends in two dimensions comprises a solar energy converter member (1) which also extends along and defines one surface of the construction element (29). The construction element (29) further comprises a building construction member (30) which extends along the construction element (29) and defines the second surface thereof. At least a part of the solar energy converter member (1) is integral with at least a part of the building construction member (30) whereby this integral part both contributes to the requirements for solar energy conversion as well as to requirements for constructions.

Solar array support methods and systems
09564851 · 2017-02-07 · ·

Systems and methods for disposing and supporting a solar panel array are disclosed. The embodiments comprise various combinations of cables, support columns, and pod constructions in which to support solar panels. Special installations of the system can include systems mounted over structures such as parking lots, roads, aqueducts, and other bodies of water. Simplified support systems with a minimum number of structural elements can be used to create effective support for solar panel arrays of varying size and shapes. These simplified systems minimize material requirements and labor for installation of the systems.

Vehicle-actuated weather barrier apparatus

Example weather barrier apparatus are disclosed herein. An example weather barrier apparatus disclosed herein include rear edge seals to sealingly engage a rearward facing edge of a vehicle parked at a loading dock. In some examples, the rear edge seal is part of a pivotal upper or side seal member that also includes a surface seal. The surface seal is spaced apart from the edge seal and is to sealingly engage a side or upper surface of the vehicle. In some examples, the vehicle's side surface is the outward facing surface of the vehicle's swung-open door. In some examples, the vehicle backing against the edge seal is what deploys the side seal. Some example weather barrier apparatus disclosed herein include an upper seal member and two side seal members, where vehicle-activated movement of the upper seal and side seal members are coordinated to seek and seal against rear corners of a cargo opening of the vehicle. In some examples, one or more seal members lengthen in response to the size and position of the vehicle.
