A key handle assembly for improving key usability for persons having limited dexterity includes a body. The body has a first side, a second side, and a perimeter edge extending between the first and second sides. The perimeter edge has a top edge, a bottom edge, a front edge and a rear edge. The front edge of the body has a plurality of notches extending therein and toward the rear side, and through the top and bottom edges. Each of the notches receives a key pivotably through the body. A plurality of intermediate walls is defined on opposite sides of the notches. The body has an aperture extending into the first side and through each of the intermediate walls. A rod extends through the aperture, through each of the intermediate walls and through a key hole in the key such that the key is pivotably coupled to the body.

A step-like transition region between the wider lower portion and the narrow upper portion. The key blade includes a longitudinal profile groove located adjacent to the step-like transition region that extends along at least a portion of the length of the blade. An inner wall of groove is substantially parallel to a side surface of the lower portion of the key blade. The longitudinal profile groove includes an undercut portion adjacent to and inside a ridge portion of the key blade. The outside of ridge portion forms a part of the side surface of the blade in the relatively wide lower portion up to the step-like transition region and the inside of ridge portion facing inner wall of the groove.

Linear lock

A linearly-actuated lock including a housing, a lock case received within the housing along an axis, and a lock barrel rotatable relative to the lock case between a locked state and an unlocked state. The lock barrel includes tumblers and tumbler springs. The lock further includes a key insertable into the lock barrel to displace the tumblers relative to the lock barrel in a direction parallel to the axis and a sidebar extending through apertures of the lock barrel. The sidebar is engageable with a notch of the tumblers when the sidebar moves radially inward relative to the axis. The sidebar includes a cam surface slidable against at least one of the housing and the lock case when the lock barrel rotates. The sidebar also includes a projection having a single-ramped surface received within the notch of each tumbler when the lock barrel is in the unlocked state.

Keyless Insertion Locking System and Method

The present invention, in a non-limiting example embodiment provides a locking apparatus and method for securing locking hardware without the use of a key. In an example embodiment, the apparatus comprises at least a keyless insertion rotatable disk-style, barrel locking apparatus that, in a locked state can be inserted into a securing device without first unlocking, and then, thereafter, locking after insertion. In a nonlimiting example embodiment, unlocking and re-locking requires a key. The present invention, in an example embodiment, also provides features that allow the locking apparatus to enter and exit multiple apertures without requiring a key.

Disclosed is a system for monitoring a location of a key relative to a key-box, configured to perform: (i) providing access to the key by: communicating over a personal area network with a first mobile-device for the first user as the first user approaches the key-box in an attempt to obtain the key, obtaining first credentials from the first mobile-device, determining whether the first credentials are valid or invalid, when the first credentials are valid: putting the key-box in an unlocked configuration, (ii) tracking a location of the key by: communicating over the personal area network with: the key and/or mobile-device to determine whether the key is being returned to the key-box, wherein upon a determination by the key-box or the mobile-device that the key is not being returned, an alert is provided by the mobile-device to the first user.
