A key system of a lock having a high peaking difficulty when picking is tried by a picking tool, includes three or more rectangular holes formed between pin holes of an inner case to insert rectangular pins, where each of the rectangular pin includes a side bar insertion groove and a fake groove formed to be spaced apart from the side bar insertion groove at an interval to raise the degree of picking difficulty. A quadrangular pin is inserted into the rectangular hole located in the middle among the rectangular holes formed in the inner case to be inserted into the hole formed in an outer case. The side on which the quadrangular pin is located has an escape groove to accommodate the quadrangular pin.

A smart lock box system is described. One implementation of the lock box system includes a locking mechanism configured to securely hold a cover over a compartment. The lock box system includes a receiver capable of receiving signals from a user device. The lock box system also includes a processor configured to identify an access message in a received signal, a service to verify that the access message was provided by an authorized party, and cause the locking mechanism to be released in response to verifying that the access message was provided by the authorized party. The open/close events are recorded in a distributed ledger to document which user's device was used to access a given property at a given time. Furthermore, the smart lock box system utilizes a push notification service, based on user device's GPS, to inform owners when to depart/return to the property.

A lock box includes: a chassis; a lower housing solenoid attached to the chassis; a removable lower housing removably connected to the chassis through the lower housing solenoid; and a battery holder configured to removably secure a primary battery within the battery holder, such that the primary battery is configured to move with the removable lower housing, the primary battery being configured to provide electricity to the lower housing solenoid.

An exemplary lock apparatus includes a housing and a plug assembly rotatably mounted in the housing. The plug assembly includes a tumbler assembly operable to selectively prevent rotation of the plug assembly relative to the housing and a retention mechanism operable to selectively prevent removal of the plug assembly from the housing. A system including the lock apparatus may include a change key configured to actuate the tumbler assembly without actuating the retention mechanism and/or a control key configured to actuate both the tumbler assembly and the retention mechanism.

A system including a lock class having a plurality of lock families, with each lock family including a plurality of lock cylinders. Each of the lock families has a control pin location which is different from the control pin location of another of the lock families within the lock class. Each of the lock cylinders generally includes a shell, a plug rotatably mounted in the shell, and a control ring rotatably mounted on the plug at the control pin location of the lock family of which the lock cylinder is a member, and a control pin operable to selectively couple the plug with the control ring. Each lock family may be associated with a control key family. Each control key family may include a plurality of control keys, each of which may have a control bitting configured to urge control pins of the associated lock family to a coupling position.

Embodiments discussed herein enable an authorized user of a door security device to secure a door against entry, but also enable that authorized user to provide access to others, without having to provide a physical key. Embodiments discussed herein further allow an authorized user to operate the door security device remotely, such as through a wired or wireless network, or through any other network as described herein, as known at the time of filing, and/or as developed after the time of filing.

A locking module for selectively coupling a first component and a second component of a lockable device includes a locking member rotatable about an axis between a rest position and an actuated position. An engagement member is movable between a locked position and an unlocked position. The engagement member is configured to cooperate with the locking member to selectively release the second component.

A substantially flat key blade extends from a grip portion along a longitudinal axis and includes a connecting portion adjoining to the grip portion, a major longitudinal bitting portion provided with a row of coded cuts, and a free tip portion. Device for detecting the coding profile of a key, of the type intended to be installed and/or provided inside a key cutting machine having an operating area provided of at least one milling and/or cutting unit and of at least one clamp for locking a key, and includes: an optical reader which is configured to be entirely housed inside the structure of the duplicating machine but outside the operating area of the machine, a drawer provided with clamping means to hold the key, whose coding profile is to be detected, in correspondence with its head and/or its stem and/or a connecting section between the head and the shaft of the key, the drawer being configured to be movable towards and away from the optical reader, the optical reader includes a telecentric optic interposed between the drawer and at least one optical sensor.

A key scanning apparatus is provided. The key scanning apparatus comprises: a support arranged to support a key; a camera arranged to capture at least one image of the key supported by the support; at least one light source arranged to emit a beam of light towards the key supported by the support; and at least one processor configured to cause, based on data associated with the key, adjustment of at least one of: a position of the support, the camera, or a position of the light source. The support may be a platform. The light source may be a laser.
