DETAINER DISC LOCKING SYSTEM WHICH FORMS A DEVIATED PICKING PATH
20220056731 · 2022-02-24 ·

A locking system has a lock cylinder rotatable within a lock housing and a side bar movable relative to channels within the lock cylinder and lock housing between locked and released conditions of the lock cylinder. An idler block within the lock cylinder has a key channel receiving a key therein so that the key and idler block rotate together relative to the lock cylinder. Annular detainer discs are received between the idler block and the lock cylinder, each having an outer gate channel and an inner key bit such that keyed surfaces of the key engage the key bits when rotated to align the gate channels with the side bar and enable the release of the side bar to unlock the cylinder relative to the housing. A stationary shield may be fixed relative to the housing, about which the idler block rotates to restrict access to the detainer discs.

LOCK CYLINDER WITH ELECTRONIC KEY RECOGNITION

A lock cylinder including a plug, a plurality of key followers, a sensor assembly structured to sense positions of the key followers, and a controller in communication with the sensor assembly. The plug includes a keyway and a plurality of plug tumbler shafts. Each of the key followers is movably seated in a corresponding one of the plug tumbler shafts and includes a sensor interface. The sensor assembly includes a plurality of sensors, each of which includes at least one sensing region. Each of the key followers is associated with one of the sensors via an associative link formed between the sensor interface and the corresponding sensing region. The sensors are structured to generate an output signal indicative of the transverse position of the associated key follower, and the controller is structured to select and perform actions based upon the output signals.

Eliminating maximum adjacent cut specification restrictions for telescoping pins

A key device (10) includes a generally elongate shaft portion (12) including a key combination surface (16) that has a plurality of key cut stations (18) for forming telescoping key cuts at each key cut station (18). Each key cut station (18) has a telescoping maximum adjacent cut specification (MACS) that defines a maximum depth of adjacent. The key device (10) also has a non-MACS key cut (20), formed at one or more of the key cut stations (18), for interfacing with a first pin (24) of a given telescoping plug pin. The non-MACS key cut (20) is dimensioned to leave material in the elongate shaft portion (12) for forming another key cut (20A) for interfacing with a second pin (26) of the given telescoping plug pin.

REACTIVE BUMPING-RESISTANCE DEVICE THAT CAN BE IMPLEMENTED IN A LOCK POSSIBLY AS A RETROFIT WITHOUT ALTERATIONS TO THE BODY OR ROTOR OF THE SAME
20170328085 · 2017-11-16 ·

An Apparatus that can be implemented in a conventional pin/tumbler (piston/counter-piston) cylinder lock type without substantial alterations of the hull (body) and/or of the plug (rotor) of the same lock and capable of making the lock resistant in a non-passive way to the lock picking technique called “bumping” by means of a reaction in which the “bumping” mechanical pulse that is (at least partially) received by a first section with greater length of a sectioned counter-piston, is eccentrically transmitted to a pivoting element creating a mechanical torque that converts it at least partially in a reaction pulse applied to a second section of the fractioned counter-piston along a direction that drives the said second section to engage the lock position between the body and the rotor.

Lock cylinder

A lock cylinder includes a housing, in which a sleeve having a cylinder core accommodated therein is rotatably supported. The cylinder core has spring-loaded tumblers forming a form closure with recesses arranged in the sleeve when a key engaging the tumblers is removed. Inside the housing, the sleeve is coupled to a coupling element by means of a disengaging sleeve. The coupling element is supported inside the housing and connected to a bearing in a rotationally-fixed manner. The bearing supports an output element. At least one of the sleeve and the coupling element forms a form closure with the bearing to block the rotation of the output element if an improper object is used in operative connection with the cylinder core.

LOCK ASSEMBLY WITH DETECTION FUNCTION

A lock assembly includes an outer body defining a hollow chamber, at least one pin-reception chamber located exterior of and in spatial communication with the hollow chamber and a plug unit disposed at an outer peripheral portion thereof in alignment with the pin-reception chamber; a cylinder mounted rotatably in the hollow chamber, having a distal end formed with an axial key passage and a peripheral wall formed with a pin channel in alignment with the pin-reception chamber and in spatial communication with the key passage; at least one driver pin unit disposed movably between the pin channel in the cylinder and the pin-reception chamber in the outer body; and a detection device installed to the plug unit in such a manner that the detection device is aligned with the driver pin unit is activated to output a signal upon detecting movement of the driver pin unit.

Pick-Resistant Pin Tumbler Lock
20170234035 · 2017-08-17 ·

A pick-resistant pin tumbler lock having a first stage in which the pins may move but the plug cannot rotate, and a second stage in which the plug may rotate but the pins cannot move. Pin movement inhibitors prevent further movement of the pins once sufficient rearward force is applied to the lock, and a rotation inhibitor prevents rotation of the plug until after the sufficient rearward force is applied.

WEATHER RESISTANT PIN LOCK
20170226773 · 2017-08-10 ·

A weather resistant pin lock with an elongated body, defining a longitudinal axis includes a shell housing a rotatable core having a keyway. An elevated pinway projects upwardly from the shell to define a linear array of pin slots containing a set of lock pins. A hood is fastened to the pinway to hold the lock pins in the pin slots and to provide a water resistant barrier. A drainway provides a channel for water to flow outwardly from the interior of the shell, the rotatable core and the keyway within the core, to a drain below the pin lock. At the proximate end, an access door rotates adjacent the keyway at an elevated position, to provide a gap along the bottom edge of the access door.

Flat-bladed key

A cylinder lock with a rotating tumbler pin, a sidebar, and a slider has a keyway with a ward projection into the center of the bitting area of a key blade received by the keyway. The tip of each rotating tumbler pin seats on the bitting surfaces remaining to the sides of this center ward of the key, and the tumbler pins that are engaged by the bitting on the side of the key blade do not seat on more than half of the width of the blade. Half the pin width is removed from each tumbler pin near the tip thereof. The key has a bitted section at which one or more bittings are formed and a non-bitted section bitting that is devoid of bitting. The bittings extend at a constant depth to an edge of the key blade.
