A package (200) for a selectively separable quad cane assembly can include an enclosed rectangular box (500), with a front face (201) defining an aperture (224) that is centrally located along a height (225) of the front face and offset from a medial line (227) defined by the front face. An upper face (205) can define a two-sided aperture (222) at a corner of the upper face, while a lower face (206) defines a peninsular aperture (221) that is centrally located along an edge (223) of the lower face. In the package, the aperture can concentrically circumscribe an a cane-receiving conduit (125) of a quadspider (221) of the cane, while an apex (501) of a gooseneck (108) of the cane is aligned with the two-sided aperture of the upper face and the lower leg is aligned with the peninsular aperture of the lower face.

Load Path Redistribution Field Coupler

Apparatus and associated methods relate to distributing a laterally distributed load applied by a flexible surface to one or more longitudinal load paths. A support connection hub may, for example, include a first cavity extending longitudinally along a first axis and configured to receive a vertical support member at a bottom side of the support connection hub. The hub may, for example, include a second cavity extending across a top of the hub along a second axis orthogonal to the first axis. The second cavity may, for example, be horizontally and releasably receive a lateral support member orthogonal to the vertical support member such that the lateral rod is configured to support a flexible surface distributed along the lateral rod. Various embodiments may advantageously transfer a load from the flexible surface to the vertical rod along a load path substantially parallel to the first longitudinal axis.

An apparatus that allows a user with limited mobility to accomplish tasks such as repairs and inspections around and under the house, RV, boat or vehicle that are difficult for a user with mobility limitations to do without the apparatus, beginning with a first side that is adjustable of approximately 6 to 12 inches from a floor surface, a second side that is adjustable of approximately 12 to 18 inches from a floor surface, a third side that is adjustable of approximately 18 to 28 inches from a floor surface, and comprised of handrails on the surface of the apparatus, making it easy for a user to grip anywhere on the apparatus for easy gripping for the user to either raise themselves up from the floor or lower themselves to the floor, utilizing one of the apparatuses sides at a time, by turning the apparatus over to one of its multiple sides of varying length from the floor.

Ergonomic or user-friendly dual walking cane
10918177 · 2021-02-16 ·

A dual ergonomic walking cane system that is easy and comfortable to use employs an anterior and a posterior cane connected by at least one releasable coupling for use in one hand or following separation allowing the use of one cane in each hand with an optional ball grip on the anterior cane. A guide on one cane consists of a pair of spaced apart guide members extending from one cane toward the other cane for receiving the shaft of the other cane when inserted between them and then held in place by gravity, by an alignment coupling or by magnets. When handles located on each cane are moved apart the canes can be easily disengaged enabling the anterior cane to be quickly removed from the guide while the canes are at or close to horizontal alignment.

Novel mobility devices are disclosed wherein one embodiment comprises a support frame and one or more boosters coupled to the frame. The booster preferably comprises a housing, a top support extending upward from the housing, and an opposing bottom support extending downward from the housing. The bottom support is preferably biased toward the housing. The housing may contain a sleeve having a top channel in communication with an opposing bottom channel. The top channel is configured to receive the top support, whereas the bottom channel is configured to receive the bottom support, a retaining ring, and a spring. The spring is disposed between a floor of the bottom channel and the retaining ring. The sleeve may also have a socket configured to receive a roller, wherein the roller has a bottom hole configured to receive the top support. The device permits the user to stand from a seated position or vice versa without the assistance of a third party, grab hold of handlebars extending from the frame, and then move about with independence. The device may also be folded for ease of storage.
