EMERGENCY DEADBOLT DEVICE WITH SINGLE ACTION UNLOCK
20210079694 · 2021-03-18 · ·

The unlocking mechanism of the present invention is actuated as a result of contact with the door's existing lever. When an occupant rotates the door's lever, it not only retracts the door's latch, but the handle will also engage the unlocking mechanism of the present invention, the door lever engaging the unlocking mechanism. The door's lever follows the geometry of the cam thereby pushing the sliding bar of the unlocking mechanism thereby engaging a latch release. The latch release moves the locked lever of the door's deadbolt assembly and the deadbolt is retracted. When the door's lever is returned to its normal state, a spring pushes the sliding bar backward to the ready position. The latch release rotates to its ready position and the mechanism is ready for a subsequent activation.

Energy efficient multi-stable lock cylinder

Some embodiments include a lock cylinder comprising: a plug assembly having a front portion and a back portion; a housing shell within which the plug assembly is rotatably disposed, wherein the housing shell includes a notch; wherein the back portion of the plug assembly comprises: a locking pin that is movably disposed, and wherein the locking pin is configured to prevent a rotation of the plug assembly when the locking pin is engaged in the notch and prevented from retracting by a multi-stable mechanism; and the multi-stable mechanism having at least two stable configurations corresponding to respectively to a locked state and an unlocked state, wherein the multi-stable mechanism can maintain the stable configurations without consuming energy; wherein, at a first stable configuration, the multi-stable mechanism prevents the locking pin from retracting, and, at a second stable configuration, the multi-stable mechanism enables the locking pin to retract.

LEVER COMPRESSION LATCH

A latch assembly for mounting in an opening of a door and for releasably latching the door to a door frame. The latch assembly includes a housing that is mountable to the opening of the door. A lever is rotatably coupled to the housing between a deployed position and a retracted position. A lock plug is rotatably mounted within the housing, the lock plug having one end for receiving either a tool or key, and an opposite end having an engagement surface. A latching member is movably coupled to the housing, and is engaged with both the rotatable lock plug and the lever in the retracted position of the lever. A torsion spring biases the lock plug back to a starting position after the lock plug is rotated from the starting position using the tool or the key.

Locking device with lockable spindle follower linkage

A locking device includes a spindle follower linkage coupled with a latch and rotatable between a locked position and an unlocked position. A locking block is formed with a pin hole. A pin is insertable through an opening of a housing and into the pin hole. A locking block spring for biasing the locking block in a first position where the pin is inserted into the pin hole and the locking block is disengaged from the spindle follower linkage, and a second position where the pin is removed and the locking block is pushed towards and engaged with the spindle follower linkage, thereby holding the spindle follower linkage in the locked position. A spring unit is held inside the pin hole to facilitate ejection of the pin.

PEDESTAL WRAP SECURITY DEVICE

A security device for a retail item or packaging has housing that retains a gear that is operably connected to a pawl with two arms. One arm of the pawl is operably engaged by the gear. The other arm of the pawl is operably engaged with an unlocking key within the housing. The unlocking key is operably controlled by an unlocking tool by inserting a portion of the unlocking tool into a complementary portion of the unlocking key through a keyway formed in the housing. The unlocking key may have a magnet or components that are attracted to a magnet that enable the unlocking key to disengage a slot formed in the housing to allow the unlocking key to rotate to move the pawl. The housing may additionally be formed with a channel that allows a plurality of similarly constructed security devices to be tethered or daisy-chained together.

Locking Bracket Assembly for Irrigation Timer Control Box
20200386020 · 2020-12-10 ·

A locking bracket assembly prevents unauthorized opening of an irrigation timer box of the type having a cam lock mounted to a hinged cover. The locking bracket assembly includes a lower mounting bracket, locking hardware for attaching the lower mounting bracket to an outer surface of the timer box, and a vertical extension bracket for vertically adjustable attachment to the lower mounting bracket. An upper length of the vertical extension bracket extends at an acute angle from a lower length that is configured for parallel alignment with both the lower mounting bracket and a sidewall of the timer box. When the cover of the timer box is closed, the acute angle allows the upper length of the vertical extension bracket to pass into the timer box and emerge through a slot cut in the cover, and the cam lock can then be rotated to engage a slot formed in part of the upper length of the vertical extension bracket that remains within the timer box. An arresting tab and guide slot prevent misalignment of the brackets and allow height adjustment of the assembly to accommodate various timer box sizes.
