An apparatus and method for assisting a user in actuating a locking mechanism associated with a storage device. The locking mechanism has a combination input device and a lock capable of being switched from a locked state to an unlocked state upon entering a preset combination using the combination input device. The actuator comprises an interface configured to releasably engage the combination input device of the locking mechanism and move the combination input device to actuate the locking mechanism and transition the lock from the locked state to the unlocked state. A controller is in communication with the actuator and configured to operate the actuator so that the actuator moves the combination input device based on the preset combination to actuate the locking mechanism and transition the lock from the locked state to the unlocked state.

A lockset comprises an upper shell and a bottom plate which are fixedly connected to each other. An accommodating space is formed between the upper shell and the bottom plate. A jack is provided on the surface of the upper shell. A locking mechanism is provided within the accommodating space. The pushbutton combination lock has a lock bolt mechanism with a lock bolt movably mounted on a frame between a locking position and an unlocking position. The lock bolt mechanism further has two lock bolt actuating mechanisms arranged to move the lock bolt between the locking position and the unlocking position. A zipper lock has a combination locking system defined by dials and clutches and a key overriding mechanism. The lock has a pole to receive zipper pullers and a movable cover plate to block the pole when the lock is in the locked mode. The lock has a control plate with release slots. The control plate can be shifted only if the dials are set to the correct combination or when a correct key is used to turn a tumbler cylinder. The cover plate is engaged with a latch having a latch finger. When the lock is in the locked mode, the latch finger is blocked by the control plate, restricting movement of the latch. When the lock is in the unlocked mode, the latch finger can be moved into a release slot, allowing the latch and cover plate to move in order to clear the pole.

The invention relates to a lock with an improved locking system, including a lock block attached to a support by means of at least two fastening screws, with a door arranged between the lock block and the support, the lock including grub screws screwed into the support, which project from the support by a length according to the portion of grub screw screwed into the support, such that the length matches a clearance between the door and the support.
