SYSTEM AND METHOD OF DETAINEE PULL AND RESTRAINT
20230349200 · 2023-11-02 ·

The present invention generally relates to system and method of restraint for use in pulling an uncooperative detainee into and out of a vehicle. The system uses a removable body strap affixed to the detainee, which is then connected to one or more ratcheting straps that are in turn connected to one or more fixed anchors within the interior of a vehicle. When in use the system may be used to pull a detainee into the vehicle and secure the detainee in an upright position for transport.

Handcuff with automatic over-tightening-prevention mechanism

The proposed handcuff in the invention employs an innovative locking mechanism, which stops further tightening of the handcuff when the force applied on the wrist of hand or ankle of foot is greater than 1.5 lbs (or any preset value), and prevents physical injuries from over-tightening without compromising the restrain. The handcuff is 50% faster in restraining by automatically locking instead of manually push-to-locking. The handcuff has the same shape/size/cost of the handcuffs currently used by police officer, and is compatible with current training procedure or SOP.

A restraint device tailored for law enforcement and military applications. The utility device has a tape section, a handle, and a head. The handle is connected to a proximal end of the tape section and the head is connected to a distal end of the tape section. The restraint device is provided in an expanded state that defines a loop, in which the tape section passes through an aperture in the head. Ideally, the tape section includes a stop that restricts the tape section from freely traveling through the aperture in the head. The handle preferably comprises a fastening point, which accommodates connecting the handle of the restraint device to another object. Some embodiments of the fastening point include a spring-loaded gate. The restraint device is a compact, portable, and versatile tool capable of facilitating a wide range of law enforcement and military practices.
