Powered dual closure system for vehicles
A vehicle closure including a rotatable lift gate and a decklid that is rotatably connected to the liftgate. First and second electrically powered actuators provide powered opening and powered closing of the liftgate and the decklid, respectively. The first powered actuator locks to prevent movement of the liftgate when the second powered actuator is actuated, and the second powered actuator locks to prevent movement of the decklid when the first powered actuator is actuated.
Latch assembly with pawl switch override device
In one aspect, a latch assembly is provided. The latch assembly includes a claw movable between a latched position and an unlatched position, and a pawl movable between a first position and a second position. The pawl engages and holds the claw in the latched position when the pawl is in the first position, and the pawl disengages the claw for movement to the unlatched position when the pawl is in the second position. The latch assembly also includes a switch cam movable between a switch-off position and a switch-on position. The claw engages and holds the switch cam in the switch-on position when the claw is in the unlatched position, the claw releasing the switch cam for movement to the switch-off position when the claw rotates to the latched position.
Anti-relatch mechanism
A latch and a method for preventing a latch from failing to open while a connected handle is lifted are provided. The latch includes a primary pawl pivotally mounted to the latch. An end piece having a protrusion extending from it is fixed to the primary pawl. An inner lever is rotatably coupled to the end piece. The inner lever includes a tail adjacent the protrusion of the end piece. The inner lever is movable between a first position and a second position. A secondary pawl is pivotally mounted to the latch and is movable between a first position and a second position. A blocking lever is also coupled to the latch and movable between a first position and a second position. When the inner lever is in a second position, the tail abuts the protrusion and the blocking lever limits movement of the inner lever and the primary pawl.
Anti-relatch mechanism
A latch and a method for preventing a latch from failing to open while a connected handle is lifted are provided. The latch includes a primary pawl pivotally mounted to the latch. An end piece having a protrusion extending from it is fixed to the primary pawl. An inner lever is rotatably coupled to the end piece. The inner lever includes a tail adjacent the protrusion of the end piece. The inner lever is movable between a first position and a second position. A secondary pawl is pivotally mounted to the latch and is movable between a first position and a second position. A blocking lever is also coupled to the latch and movable between a first position and a second position. When the inner lever is in a second position, the tail abuts the protrusion and the blocking lever limits movement of the inner lever and the primary pawl.

A door latch system for a vehicle includes: a latch interlocking mechanism arranged to be actuated in a release cancel direction from a neutral position to be interlocked with the pivot movement of the latch in a predetermined direction; and a release cancel mechanism arranged to be actuated from a connection state where an operation force transmitting path for transmitting the power of the electric driving mechanism to the ratchet is connected, to a disconnection state where the operation force transmitting path is disconnected, by the actuation of the latch interlocking mechanism in the release cancel direction from the neutral position, the release cancel mechanism being arranged to be actuated from the connection state to the disconnection state when the ratchet is in a release restriction state so as to enable the ratchet to return to the engagement position.
